Instinctively, Jacob began to tremble and took a step in front of me but I ignored his desire to protect me and ran to Dakota's side, "Dakota? You're alive?"

He scooped me up in a hung and spun me around, "Yes! And you made it out safe!" He gently set me down, "I was so worried something might have happened to you."

"To me? You're the one who risked everything to save me." I gave him another hug, "You have no idea how good it is to see you alive."

Jacob's arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me back behind him, "Who the hell is this?" He was shaking and shoved Dakota back, punching him in the face.

I pulled on Jacobs arm, "Stop it! He saved my life Jake. He's not bad. Stop!" Somehow I managed to get between the two men. "Jacob stop it."

Jacob blurred and took a step back, "Get him off my land Renesmee."

I turned and helped Dakota off the ground, "I'm so sorry. Excuse Jacob's behavior. Let me show you to my family."

Dakota stood up straight, "You're family is safe too? That makes me very happy."

I smiled. "Are you hurt badly?" I touched his eye gently where a soft bruise was forming.

"I'm fine. I heal really fast. I'd love to officially meet your family."

Jacob's Alpha voice boomed through the forest, "Renesmee. Do not ignore me. Send him to your parent's house. We will meet him there."

Dakota's eyes widened, "What are you?"

Jacob growled, "Not in the mood. Now get off my land."

I ignored Jacob, "Come on Dakota, I'll show you the way to my house."

Jacob grabbed my arm before I had a chance to head for the forest, "Don't you dare do this to me Renesmee." He had been calling me by my full name and it was frustrating because that always meant he was upset with me. He had no right to be upset with me. I hadn't done anything wrong. Jacob was the one acting crazy.

"You can come too Jake. If you act civil and nock this crap off."

I could see something snap in his eyes as he took a step back releasing me from his grip. Almost instantly Jacob exploded into his wolf form, sending his tattered clothes flying through the air.

Dakota fell backwards and frantically stumbled away, "Don't worry Dakota he won't hurt you. He's just grumpy."

"Wha...What...What the hell is he?" There was fear clear in his eyes and I hated that Jacob was messing this up. I didn't want him to get scared away.

I reached out and placed my hand on Dakota's shoulder, "He's a werewolf. You don't need to be afraid, he's just overly protective sometimes." I shot Jacob a glare.

Dakota was panting, "Maybe you should take me to your family? I'm better with vampires."

Holding out my hand, I helped Dakota to his feet, "Yeah. Just follow me."

Jacob growled and stood between Dakota and I and the forest. I couldn't believe how he was acting. Without warning Jacob tossed his head in the air and let out an echoing howl, he was warning the others.

I turned to Dakota, "Don't be afraid. But more are coming."

"What? Why? I never meant to offend anyone. I don't want any trouble."

I placed my hand on his back and rubbed it, "You didn't do anything wrong. Jacob is just being way overprotective. You're safe with me."

"Are you sure? He seems a little unstable."
