School moved slower than ever before. It was agonizing waiting while the clock slowly ticked. When my last class finally arrived, I couldn't take it anymore. I rushed to Cassidy's locker to meet her before class started. She was there with a guy named Nate. He had liked her for years bur had no chance against Brady. I felt bad for the kid, he always respected her and tried to be her friend but I could tell he really wanted a chance to be with her. She seemed to be completely oblivious to his feelings. Cassidy smiled and waved when she spotted me in the crowd of people, "Hey girl! Are you excited for the beach today?"

"So excited!" I turned to Nate, "Hey Nate."

He smiled but it wasn't the same smile he gave Eli, "Hey Lydia." He turned to Cass, "I'll see you later, be safe tonight."

She smiled and gave him a hug, "Will do. See yeah."

After he left, I turned to her, "Okay...so I was thinking we should ditch?"

Cassidy laughed, "How did I know you were going to ask that?"

"Because you know me." I laughed, "Now...Are you with me?"

She rolled her eyes, "You already ditched this week and we have that paper due."

I stuck out my tongue, "Fine...Ugh. You're no fun anymore, your too safe."

She rolled her eyes and laughed, "No fun, too safe? I roll with vampires and wearwolves. I live on the edge on a daily bases."

Her comment made me laugh much harder than I was expecting but I calmed down quickly, "Sure, sure. The poor little human can't take the heat?"

She just rolled her eyes as we entered our health class, "Be carful there. You're still half human."

"Ooo...I'm so scared."

"Shut up and sit down."

Laughing, I found my way to the seat beside her and plopped down, "This class is going to take forever."

"Yep."

Suprisingly, the last hour wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Mrs. Johnson was an amazing teacher and had a way of teaching the class that made the time fly. We talked and played games, learning about nutrison and what our body needs to survive. It was curious for me to understand the human side of me but I didn't know how much of it really applied to me. There was no one else, I could ask about the way I worked because I was the last hybrid. There was a posability that Dakota was still alive but it was next to nothing because he had helped me and had probably paid for it with his life. I really wish there was someone who could help me better understand myself.

"Hello? Lydia?" Cassidy waved a hand in front of my face, "For someone who wanted to skip, you sure are moving slow after the bell."

I was shaken out of my thoughts, "Is it time to go?" I shot up out of my seat and shoved my books into my backpack.

She laughed, "The guys are waiting out front. Brady texted me."

"Darn it! I'm sorry. I was daydreaming." I blushed and headed for the door, everyone was already gone.

Eli fallowed behind me, "About Jacob?"

"What?"

"Were you daydreaming about Jacob?"

"Oh...No. I was thinking about how what we just learned doesn't apply to me."

She laughed as we walked out of the school, "That's funny, I didn't even think about that. You are just too special."
