part 7 of the 'save me' series.

"and you're sure that you're okay?", i asked the boy in front of me, who had his hands buried in the pockets of his coat, looking down to me. "yeah, i think so. it was good to had someone to talk to after some time.", he replied, a slight smile on his lips. "see you tomorrow in school then.", jin said before turning around and walking away in a fast, steady pace. i stood there for a while more, leaning against the doorframe and watched the sun setting, the darkness rising up the sky, before i felt a chill creeping up my arms and decided to go inside again.

while snuggling into a blanket, my thoughts drifted off to jin. the handsome boy, who seemed to be the nice guy everyone wanted to be friends with, but in reality, he was just like everyone else of us: a teenager who tried to find his place in life, who has to deal with losses and wins. "how can i help him?", i wondered out loud and chose to ask him a bit more about his friends. maybe i could find them and talk to them? more important, why did i choose to help jin? i barely knew him! "i'll have to find out more about him.", i mumbled to myself.

"good morning (y/n)!", a class mate of mine greeted me and i smiled at her, greeting back before joining the group. "hey guys, do you maybe know what's wrong with jin? i mean, he seems to be really alone.", i asked the other girls standing in a circle and all of them looked at me. "he used to be friends with a couple of guys, they were 7, i guess. but i don't know, something happened and they don't hang around anymore. and the othes are like completely weird.", (g/n) answered, sighing softly. "oh, and since then, jin isn't willing to communicate with any of us.", another girl asked, her voice laced with sadness. "he's such a nice guy, but ... they kind of destroyed him."

"... destroyed?", i replied, couldn't believe what i just heard. soon after, the school's bell rang and i walked into the classroom, the others following behind. with a warm smile, i sat down next to jin, leaning over and whispering: "did you understand the homework?" the brunet stared at me with slightly widened eyes, as if he never expected someome to just talk to him like i just did. "so, did you? i'm a loser when it comes to math, so yeah ...", i grinned sheepishly, causing a very slight blush to creep up the boy's cheeks. "uh, yeah, i got it. do you, uh, maybe ... want to study .. together?", jin said, so quiet that i barely understood him, but i nodded nevertheless.

"during lunch break is it, then?", i asked, before turning to face my sheets of paper again. from the corners of my eyes, i could see the brunet nodding slightly, before he focused on the horrible person called a math teacher. he was about to hand back the exams we wrote some weeks earlier, and i could already feel anxiety creeping up my back. i had been studying so hard for this exam, and really feared the result.

"well done, miss (n/n).", the teacher said. as i opened the excersise book, i stared at the red mark in disbelief. "a c+?! oh lord, i can't even!", i whisper-yelled more to myself, causing someone to chuckle. as i looked to the one who was laughing, i realized it was jin and couldn't hold back a smile as well. it was rare to see jin like this, smiling, maybe even happy, forgetting about his worries for once.

"oh, and these guys over there used to be my friends.", jin said from his seat in the cafeteria, nodding towards a group of six, rather intimidating looking guys. all of them had different hair colors, wore piercings (just like me) and looked like they didn't give any fucks. "okay then ...", i mumbled and focused on the complicated algorithms again. "like, why do we have to learn this kind of stuff?", i groaned a mere seconds later, throwing my arms up, running a hand through my blue hair. jin, who sat across me, looked at me, his eyes locking with mine. "i don't know. one of my friends is a real genius, he would solve the problems within minutes."
