my whole mind was filled with anticipation as i looked at myself in the mirror. i wore a dark blue dress and simple flats, and my hair was falling over my back, styled into thick curls. nervously, i turned around, searching for anything that could look weird. it was my first date after all, so who wouldn't be nervous? "(y/n), what is taking you so long upstairs?", my mother asked from somewhere in our house and i took a deep breath, grabbed my bag and headed downstairs while yelling: "i'm coming already, no need to hurry!"

i stepped into the kitchen where she sat at the table, gaze focused on the newspaper. when she heard my soft footsteps on the wooden floor, she raised her head and her warm brown eyes rested on me. "you look so beautiful. my girl is growing up so soon.", my mother commented, wiping a not existing tears from her eyes, a soft smile on her lips. feeling slightly embarrassed, i shifted around, looking at the ground. when was he going to arrive? was he even going to come? what if-?

the sudden ring of the doorbell startled us both and i rushed over to open the door. a sigh out of relief escaped my lips as i saw him standing there. opening my mouth to say something, i got interrupted by my mother who stood behind me, smiling widely. "jin! it's such a pleasure to see you here! please take good care of (y/n), will you?" said male bowed down slightly before taking my hand in his, pulling me towards him. "of course, ma'am. she will come back safely.", he replied, flashing a smile that made my heart skip a beat. "that's great! i wish you both a wonderful day!", my mother cheered happily, making me want to disappear out of embarrassment.

"i'm looking forward to spending this day with you, (y/n). you look beautiful, by the way.", jin said, looking down at me while he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear, causing my cheeks to redden in the slightest of ways. "t-thank you, i can't wait for it either.", i managed to stutter, and wanted to slap myself for this. couldn't i be cool and normal in front of my crush at least once?! jin chuckled and intertwined our fingers with each other as we continued to walk along the streets. "where are we going?", i asked, voice laced with curiosity. "you'll see soon.", jin answered and i nodded. as silence fell between the two of us, i took my time to look at him, take his features. his soft, brown hair that covered his forehead, shining in the sun. his sharp and defined jawline, his full lips, curled up into a smile. "like what you see?", he interrupted my thoughts and i blushed harder, looking away quickly. how embarrassing!

"don't worry. it's cute when you blush.", jin said before walking a bit faster. "look, where almost there!", he pointed out to somewhere on the horizon and by now, i recognized the smell of cotton candy and roasted almonds. i gasped.  "for real? we're at the fair?!" upon seeing my excitement, jin grinned and nodded. "i thought you'd like something like this. so, what do you want to do first?" i couldn't help but smile happily as i grabbed jin's hand and started to pull him towards one of the roundabouts, causing him to let out a chuckle. "let's go then."

it had already gotten dark and i was currently walking around with jin. the day was wonderful and amazing so far, we tried a lot of roundabouts and he scored a little wolf plushie for me when i told him i loved these animals. he was so kind and friendly, which made me fall for him even more. right now, he bought me cotton candy while insisting that he'd pay, making my cheeks heat up. i wasn't used to a boy paying nearly everything.
