the sun barely rose behind the tall buildings of seoul when kim namjoon stood in front of what he liked to call his second home: the coffee shop. it was monday, and everyone else would probably groan or mourn over the start of a new —stressful— week, but not namjoon. in fact, he was looking forward to it. with a big, wide smile curling on his lips, the young man unlocked the door and stepped inside. soon, his coworkers would also arrive here, and the room would be filled with chattering and the sounds of laughter. namjoon decided it would be better to get to work already, and so he pulled up the curtains, set the coffee machine and stuff like that. when he glanced at the clock, anticipation washed over him.

"ready to start the day..", he muttered and waved at his coworkers who could already be seen running towards the shop through the clear windows. "why are you always so damn early?", yoongi mumbled, eyes half closed, as he suppressed a yawn. just a couple of seconds after, a loud "good morning everyone!" boomed through the café —and everyone knew that hoseok arrived—, causing yoongi to let out a groan. "i need some coffee.", the petite male said, sleep still evident in his eyes, and walked to the backside of the store.

"just ... forget it, let's get started already.", namjoon sighed at his coworker's usual behavior. when he looked at the clock again, he realized that it was already 6 am. and yes, there was a certain reason as to why he was so happy on a monday morning. and this reason was her.

(n/n) (y/n), one of their most frequent customers. she would arrive at 7 am sharp, ordering a coffee. just a coffee, long, with no sugar— and nothing else. she would get a seat in the far back, taking out her laptop and start to write (no, he didn't know what exactly she was writing). when namjoon had prepared her order and brought it over (because good service was really important), (y/n) would look up, smile and say "thank you" in (slightly) accented korean. for some reason, this made his heart flutter.

(y/n) would stay until 10 am, and these three hours were always a little highlight for namjoon, and he was kind of sad when she would leave. oh, but before leaving, (y/n) would order a box with exactly 7 donuts and two frappuccino.

and this procedure went on from monday to friday, every week. namjoon started to miss (y/n) during the free days or weekends, and this was so weird, because he only knew her name and that she liked coffee. nothing more, nothing less. so, he was practically falling for a stranger, and yoongi already made fun of him for that. at least hoseok didn't, but his "oh my god, you two are so cute!" screeches were not helping either.

a long sigh left the tall male's lips, as he unlocked the door. today was saturday, which meant that (y/n) wouldn't show up. "aw, missing your favorite customer?", yoongi's deep voice reached his ears, and he just shook is head at the elder's constant teasing. ever since he found out about namjoon having some sort of feelings for (y/n), he would constantly tease and embarrass him.

caught up in thinking of a snarky reply to yoongi's comment, namjoon totally overheard the soft ringing of the bell above the door, indicating that a new customer arrived, until—hoseok said: "good morning, (y/n)! the usual?" just then, namjoon jerked around, jaw slacking and eyes widening (maybe it was exaggerated, but who knows?) as he saw the beautiful girl standing there, clad in black completely.

"yeah, that would be nice.", she said, and the sadness in her voice was more then evident. instead of taking a seat in the back, she sat at the bar, took out her phone and quickly typed something. "ah well, it's quite empty here on saturday?", she commented, smiling softly as hoseok placed the steamy mug of coffee in front of her.

jealousy welled up inside of namjoon as he noticed the way hoseok had decorated the coffee, with the top adorned with a small drawing and some cookies placed beneath the mug. man, he would have done that too, but no, he was busy bickering around with yoongi.

seeing that there was no other costumer, he decided to take a seat across her, ready to jump up in case something was needed. he tried his best to not break out into awkward stuttering as he cleared his throat. "u-uhm ... why are you here? i mean, it's fine, i was just wondering, you never come here these days, that sounds wrong, uh, i'm so-"

(y/n) interrupted his (in the end, really awkward) stuttering with an angelic sounding chuckle tumbling from her soft lips. "it's fine, i get what you mean.", she replied. her voice sounded oh so heavenly in his ears, and he was 100% sure that yoongi and hoseok were already making fun of him, but he didn't mind at all—at last, he was able to talk to her.

"i have to go to a funeral soon and i thought about having a nice coffee beforehand.", (y/n) went on, a shadow washing over her auburn eyes. she looked so incredibly sad, and he was quick to react. "oh no, i am sorry. is there—is there anything i can do?", he blurted out. as soon as the fair-haired man realized what he just said, a blush crept on his cheeks. he really was stupid.

"ah, no. but thanks so much, talking alone helps a lot.", (y/n) replied with a smile, before she took a quick glance at her watch. "ah, crap, i have to go, catch the train. here, we should talk more often.", she said to him, and grabbed a napkin. snatching the pen from the table, she quickly wrote a row of numbers on it, shoving it to him.

"that's my number. i would really, really like to talk to you. you're a very nice guy, and i would also love to get to know you more, if that's okay?", (y/n) smiled while standing up and taking her back. namjoon sat there, completely and utterly shook, as he barely managed to nod and say: "i-i'll call you!"

"i hope so!", (y/n) laughed, a spark lighting up in her amber eyes, as she turned around, and walked (more like rushed) out of the small café.

"omg, i got her number! that's so cool! like, she noticed me!"

"yeah, we know. now, can you stop shaking my shoulders and let me get my well earned rest? thank you."

"come on yoongi, don't be so harsh, we won't have to listen to namjoonie's whining anymore. instead, I WILL HEAR ABOUT TONS OF CUTE DATES, OH AND YOU HAVE TO BUY HER FLOWERS, OKAY?!"

"hoseok!")

another request finished! hope you liked it. (i decided for something among the lines of fluff and a bit of humor because that's what we need these days)
