my fingers were flipping the pages of the newspaper frequently, my eyes scanning the black letters and colorful pictures for any rumors when it came to bts, jin, or me. especially me. since the world found out about me dating the oldest member of bts, i've seen countless articles about me, my way of dressing or my family. some where nice, others not. and then there were rumors. completely random ones, talking about affairs, breakups, pregnancies and everything else you can imagine. even if we knew that these rumors were everything but true, i still felt horrible when i read about these lies being spread.
"(y/n), what are you doing?", i heard my boyfriend's voice from behind me, making me flinch and push away the newspaper, guilt washing over me. "uh, n-nothing!", i half-yelled, taking a deep breath as an attempt to calm down, when jin leant over, grabbing the newspaper, frowning slightly. "didn't i tell you to ignore those stupid rumors?", he sighed, facing me, and i bit my lip. "sorry..", i mumbled, looking down at my fingers. "there's nothing to be sorry about.", he said and embraced me, letting me feel his warmth. i buried my face in his chest, tears brimming in the corners of my eyes. "i should stop being such a crybaby. ", i stated and he brought me even closer to him. "you're everything but a crybaby, never forget that."

"hey (y/n), it has been some time since i last saw you!", i heard a female voice calling from the other side of the street, and i turned around to see (g/n), a former class mate of mine. i faked a smile and waited for her to approach me, as we weren't the closest back in high school. "how's it going with your boyfriend?", she asked, voice dripping with faked innocence. "uhm, everything's fine, why are you asking?", i answered, feeling confused by her weird behavior.
(g/n) tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before leaning towards me in a conspirational way."i thought you two would break up, at least that's what i would do if my boyfriend is seeing someone else behind my back.", she whispered so that no one could follow our little conversation. "w-what?!", i whisper-yelled, making some people turn around, glaring slightly at me. i quickly bowed down and muttered some apologies before facing (g/n) again. "why should i believe you? do you have any proofs?" "of course.", she said and pulled out a small envelope and opened it. "here."
i blinked once, twice, not wanting to realize what i was seeing. some pictures of jin together with another girl i've never seen before. they seemed really close, smiling at each other, laughing. i felt like someone stabbed a knife right into my heart and i took a deep and shaky breath. "thank you for informing me, (g/n). if you excuse me, i need some time for myself.", i managed to say, and she smiled symphatetically. "of course, these are big news. see you some day, (y/n)."

the keys made a rattling sound when i unlocked the door and jin called out from somewhere inside the house: "jagi, you're home already?" i didn't respond, just slid off my jacket and walked into the kitchen. "(y/n), something wrong?", jin walked into the kitchen, looking at me worried. without saying a word, i approached him, handing the envelope to him. he opened it, and his eyes widened at the sight of the pictures. "shit.", he cursed and looked at me, his face full of guilt.
