I woke up to the normal. My mom and dad were screaming at eachother. Just a normal day in the household. I stood and walked into the bathroom. I straightened my dark brown hair, put on red lipstick and a leather jacket over the white tank underneath. I put on skinny jeans and a small pair of wedges. I grabbed my pack of cigarettes and stuck them in my back pocket with my lighter. I grabbed my purse which didn't have much in it. My makeup basically, along with my charger and head phones.
HONK HONK HONK
That was probably Chelsea. We go to school together. We are both juniors. I walked out of my room with my phone in hand. My mom and dad were in the kitchen. I stopped by the front door.
"Bye love you," I said.
Neither of them listened and they kept fighting. I shook my head and Opened the front door. I slammed it shut before walking to Chelsea.
"Let's go Lola!" She yelled, "we gotta go!"
"Shut up," I said.
I shut the car door and took out a cigarette. I lit it and took a long drag.
"You ok?" She asked.
"Yeah always," I exhaled.
The smoke filled the car and she blew it away from her.
"Parents?" She wondered.
"Always," I leaned my head back.
She sighed and continued driving.
"Come over tonight," she said, "we can get you away from it."
"Sounds good," I took another drag
"You really should quit," she sighed.
"You really should mind your own," I murmured.
"Yes ma'am," she said sarcastically.
I laughed and she smiled. I crushed the cigarette on the ground and got out of the car.
"Lola," she said, "hey snap out of it."
You see, I go into these things called zones. It's where I just go into really deep thought and I just go into space. I looked at Chelsea and we walked inside. We stopped at our lockers which were planted next to eachother.
I'm not the typical girl. I'm the bad one. Up next to Jace Williams actually. The school bad boy. Never goes to class, weed, cigarettes, fights, etc. Chelsea looks like the bad girl but is actually a total sweetheart. Me and her became friends because I was the only one to stand up to her last year. She's my only friend and I'm hers.
"So," she smiled, "have you heard about Jace?"
I shook my head, "I don't care about him. He's just a player."
"He got into a fight," she said, "word is he was arrested."
My eyes widened, "arrested?"
Now don't get me wrong. I don't care about him. He's hot as hell though. The body of a God and the tattoos. His muscles and the way he walks. He's the perfect man. No body fucks with him except one boy in this school. That's his best friend Gale. They're always together.
"Yeah arrested," she said.
I shook my head, "sucks for him."
The bell rang and I grabbed my purse. I started walking and someone ran into me.
"Hey watch it!" I snapped.
"Woah maybe you should pay attention," a low voice said, "don't run into me."
I turned quickly and saw Jace. My eyes narrowed. I got caught up in his eyes before snapping out of it. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him to my ear.
"Don't ever talk to me like that," I snapped, "you ran into me so it looks like you need to learn how to walk. Asshole."
By now everyone was stopped and looking at us. He laughed and looked at me. He grabbed my waist and picked me up. We were now looking eye to eye and I was completely off the ground.
"Chill out Barbie," he laughed, "don't hurt yourself."
I slapped him and he put me down.
"My name is Lola," I said, "call me that. I'm not your little toy."
I looked him up and down.
"You will be," he smiled.
He bit his lip and looked me up and down.
"In your dreams," I snapped.
There was silence and Chelsea grabbed my arm.
"Let's go," she whispered.
I turned and he grabbed my ass. I turned and pushed him back. Some gasped and others walked away.
"Chill out," he said, "Barbie."
"Fuck you," I said.
He smiled and put his hands in his pockets. He walked away.
She yanked my arm and laughed.
"Ok it's like you guys have talked before," she smiled, "let's skip first hour. Fill me in."
She dragged me up three flights of stairs before reaching the roof top. We sat on the concrete and I took out a cigarette.
I lit it and took a deep drag.
"So fill me in," she smiled.
"There's nothing to say," I exhaled, "I haven't talked to him ever besides now."
"You guys connected," she laughed.
"Shut up," I blew smoke in her face.
She smiled. We just talked all class. We heard the bell ring and I put out my cigarette. We walked down the stairs and we went to class.
