"What are we gonna do with her?" Brandon wondered as Em clung to his hip, with Callie next to him as Colleen by her side, and looked at a going to be-hungover Mariana passed out on the couch with her dress half up her body.
"Make coffee," she sighed, strolling into the kitchen while Colleen tugged on her brown curls.
"We should wake her up." Brandon filled up a cup of water to put in the coffee maker. "She's been asleep long enough."
"Yeah, I know," Callie told, looking at the clock on the microwave reading 3:37 in the afternoon.
"So what happened? Did she tell you anything?" He asked in a whisper, hovering over her.
"I don't know. She just cried in my arms before she fell asleep in the middle of saying something about a website? I think. Then I put her on the couch and she started kissing the cushion while mumbling 'Mat'." They both laughed hard, so loud they woke up the beast.
"Guys! Stop talking!" Mariana shouted from the living room, even though her ears were pounding.
"Finally," Callie began, carrying a cup of coffee to her. "You're up."
"Oh my god the room is spinning." She wobbled to sit up, desperately reaching for the mug in her hand.
"That's what happens when you get drunk. How did you even get here anyway?" Brandon asked, setting a bottle of medicine in front of her.
"A plane," she spoke slowly before jugging the coffee, as if there was another way to get from California to New York.
"I know that. I mean how did you get from there to here. What the hell happened?" He sat on the floor, letting Em lay back, playing with a toy.
"I need a little more coffee for that." Callie grabbed the mug, leaving Collen with Mariana, filled it up, and walked back, sitting next to her on the couch.
Callie was eager to hear whatever crazy story Mariana had gotten herself into. But Mariana wasn't speaking a word. Instead, she was glaring at Brandon, waiting for him to leave. He couldn't tell because his focus was towards the baby on the ground, but Callie could.
"I'm gonna tell him everything anyway, so you might as well save my breath," Callie sassed. Mariana shot her a scowl, still waiting for the man in the room to exit. Now they were both glaring at him.
"Are you serious?" He wondered.
"Brandon..." Callie tried persuading.
"Fine," he sighed, taking Em with him.
"Wait, where do you think you're going?" Mariana asked boldly.
"You told me to get out."
"Yeah, but you're not allowed to leave with the baby! Hand her over," she demanded, reaching her arms.
"Well what am I supposed to do then?" He handed her off.
"Read a book...play the piano...doesn't really matter," Mariana listed, bringing both Em and Colleen close to her body.
"But my keyboard's out here."
"Then take a shower! You smell a little like baby vomit or something."
"Says the girl who's covered in alcohol. Make sure the girls don't touch you and then put their hands in their mouths. We wouldn't want them-"
"Just leave already!" Mariana snapped, interrupting him.
"Okay, so what's going on?" Callie asked sweetly once Brandon left, taking the advice and turning the shower on. Mariana took a deep breath, working up to revealing everything.
