"Alright, Callie," Dr. Grace began to speak after examining Callie on her check-up after her surgery. "You are now a free woman," she laughed. "Everything seems to be all good, you're in the clear. I know you've been feeling fine for the past three weeks, this is just a formal, official statement from a health-care professional that everything is as it should be."

"That's great," Callie smiled and so did Brandon, who was sitting corner chair. Suddenly, his phone went off.

"Mariana just texted, she just landed at the airport."

"And with that, you are free to go. " Dr. Grace said with a smile, walking out of the exam room.

"You ready? Is Mariana gonna come to our place?" Callie grabbed her things and stood up.

"Yeah, she just asked for our address. She has to go through baggage claim before she can get a cab."

"Okay," she took a deep breath because she could feel herself tense up, and Brandon could tell.

"Callie, it'll be fine." He gently massaged her shoulder with one hand.

"What if she still hates us?"

"I don't think she does. If she did, why would she of said sorry in the voicemail and ask to come to our home?"

"To spit on us," she laughed.

"She won't do that," he chuckled too. "Now, c'mon." Brandon opened the door and they walked out. They began their stroll home on the sidewalk. This was something they had a love-hate relationship with. They didn't mind walking, but walking all the time, was occasionally a hassle. Even though their are cabs, they can be pricey depending on how far they have to go. There's no point in buying a car, even a cheap one.

Once Brandon and Callie got home, she happily through away the bottle of pain pills and he did the few plates and bowls that were in the sink that had piled up. Callie felt freed by discarding the pain medication because she felt as if all of their troubles were over. Little did she know, this was just the beginning.

Not long after that, they heard a series of knocks that vaguely resembled a tune of some sort. They knew it was Mariana.

"Wow, that was fast," Callie pointed out, walking towards the door. She nervously paused to build up the courage to turn the handle and open the door. She was put at ease when she felt two arms wrap around her faster than she could say 'hi.'

"Aww, I missed you!" Mariana confessed. Callie shockingly laughed before involving herself into the other half of the hug.

"Hey, what's going on-" Brandon was interrupted by Mariana running and jump hugging him too. He laughed too, shocked. Callie shut the door and looked at him with scrunched eyes in confusion. "It's good to see you too?"

"Why was that a question?" Mariana asked as she released her brother from her grip.

"Uh, I think we're just surprised. Um, you're not mad...at us?" Callie said it like it was.

"No, not anymore. I was, but I slowly got over it. I'm really sorry for how I acted. I just think I needed time to process and to get okay with it. Honestly, I just didn't want another day to go by that we didn't speak. You can't help who you fall in love with. I get it now, Callie, what you said. Brandon was never going to be just your brother." Mariana's heartfelt words ended with her pulling them closer for a group hug.

"Okay," he laughed, relieved that he got his sister back. "I guess on that note," he looked to Callie for confirmation and she nodded.

"We got married," Callie grabbed Brandon's hand and smiled way to big. Mariana just laughed and hugged them again, squeezing them even tighter than before. Callie gave Brandon a glare, basically saying that she was going to tell Mariana about what happened.
