"Has she been sleeping all day?" Brandon bickered quietly to Callie while they stood around the kitchen, keeping an eye on Colleen and Em sitting at the table doing a few practice sheets for writing homework. "What time did you pick you up from the airport?"
"It was three...I think," Callie told him while they both chopped some vegetables to act as an after school snack. Three being three in the morning. "Be nice."
"Speak of the devil and she shall appear," he whispered, hearing light footsteps coming down the stairs and heading towards them. Her black hair was flung into a pony tail and her pajamas were a little too revealing because of the short, plaid shorts and V-neck tank top.
"Mari!" Colleen shouted when she saw Mariana weaving through the furniture in the living room to get to them. Em whipped her head around to see her approach them.
"Aw, I missed you guys," she wrapped her arms around their bodies in the chairs. "I haven't seen you in forever," Mariana exaggerated. "What are you like...25 now?"
"No," Em laughed. "We're eight."
"Oh, right," Mariana nodded her head and stood up, heading for the bar stools at the risen counter tops. "Of course you're not 25, 'cause then you'd be almost as old as your parents."
"Ha-ha," Brandon intoned as he scooped the vegetables into a bowl.
"So...how are my very successful and talented bro and sis?"
"We're the same as I've told you every single week," Callie breathed, highlighting the fact they've spoken on the phone weekly for as long as they can remember.
"And rich," she added. "I couldn't help notice that you picked me up in a Rover. Then we pulled into the garage of this big, beautiful house and I saw a second one," Mariana smirked with menacing eyes.
Brandon and Callie weren't filthy rich, but they weren't exactly poor. The musical movie Brandon composed music for once upon a time did so well, they have a sequel in the works. He had been working on the music now for the past six months and wasn't expected to be finished for another four or five. Along with that, he's gotten asked to perform at large venues and galas, even being paid for a few of them. He has even performed at a celebrity wedding once. On top of Brandon's success, Callie wasn't doing so bad herself. Her assistant for running Fost and Found suggested Callie sell prints of her photographs after seeing them on her computer accidently. More than one of her photos have ended up in an auction, which then went for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
"How's Mat?" Brandon wondered, as it was more her and Callie who had the usual calls. Callie ended up telling him almost everything anyway, except the girly stuff like talking about boys and sex.
"He's great!" Her eyes lit up and her lips went ear to ear. "I'm not really suppose to tell anyone-"
"But you told me," Callie laughed, already knowing what she was talking about.
"Irrelevant," she sassed, getting back to the point. "Their next album should be coming very soon, but they want it to be a surprise release."
"So, married life's good?"
"Amazing," Mariana sung. "Not to mention I'm having like the best sex of-"
"Mariana," Callie warned between her teeth, looking over her to make sure Colleen and Em didn't hear her.
"Well, I'm not gonna lie. It's like...break the bed fantastic."
"Okay, that's too much," his uncomfortable voice spoke and both Callie and Mariana giggled. "Forget I asked," Brandon told, finally putting the bowl of veggies on the counter.
