___________________________Brandon adjusted his navy blue jacket in the mirror hanging in the foyer before going up the few stairs to get to the master bedroom. Callie and Brandon had a "reservation at seven o'clock" at one of their favorite restaurants that happened to be five star. They weren't actually going there to celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary, but she didn't know that yet. Truth be told, it wasn't even their anniversary at all. They were celebrating it the weekend before the actual date because Brandon was going to be out of town of the real one. Callie was in their bathroom finishing the final touches before they go out the door. She couldn't help but smile when she heard Brandon's footsteps coming her way.
"Woah," he blurted as soon as he turned the corner to see Callie leaned over the counter top in a short, long-sleeved silver dress. His hand went on his chest so he could catch his breath.
"You clean up nice," Callie smirked into the mirror, running her fingers through her curly hair to perfect them. "Do you think it's too much?" She wondered while the silver from her shoes and dress glistened from the bright lighting.
"It's perfect," he grinned. "You're perfect."
"Thank you," Callie said as she walked towards him to give him a kiss. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yeah, let's go."
Callie followed Brandon closely behind while they worked their way towards the garage door. He grabbed his car keys on the way out and walked around his mustang to open the car door for Callie before getting into the driver seat.
Callie was on her phone texting Em and Colleen who, as far as she knew, were staying at their best friend's house. She was just checking in and seeing what they were up to. Right as she looked up wondering where they were at, she watched the restaurant they were supposed to be in go by. She questioned Brandon, asking him where he was going and telling him he missed the turn.
Brandon took the questioning with a grain of salt, sat tight, and turned at the next left he could. This led to the parking lot of their favorite pizza joint. This was his plan all along. He was going to take her to get pizza, then take it home to get lazy on the couch. Callie's head popped up once he put the car in park.
"C'mon," Brandon encouraged as if he were talking to a sweet little puppy while he pulled the key from the ignition and popped open his car door.
"Wait, really? We're really getting pizza?" A bright smile came across her face, speaking in a high volume so he could hear her as he walked around to her side, opening her door for her to step out.
"Yes," he slurred. "Are you okay with that?" He had his arm out a little, propositioning Callie to link her arms around his, which she did.
"Very okay. I was craving pizza and was just going to get the expensive stuff from the restaurant. This will be so much better," she giggled a little while snuggling her head into Brandon's shoulder.
They breezily walked to the establishment's entry doors, which Brandon opened for Callie once they got there. They were instantly greeted by the waft of fresh cooking pizza coming from the ovens. Both of them smiled, already growing inpatient to get their own and take it home.
Callie walked up to the counters, explored the menus hanging from above, and watched the pizza making process behind the glass. This pizza place had it set up where you could see the food being prepared and cooked, instead of storing it behind double doors. They ended up ordering a large pizza, half pepperoni and the other half just cheese.
Callie was focused on the black-haired teen assembling the food, who then tossed it in the moving oven. Brandon was standing at the register to pay and tip the boy while she continued to stare.
