Chapter Twenty-One: “Miss Moving On”
One Week Later
Shayne’s Point Of View
My phone buzzes early in the morning and I grabbed my phone and slide my thumb to the screen as it unlocks, I checked my messages as I saw Ace’s message that was sent less than a minute ago. I tapped my thumb to his message and read it carefully.
**Good morning:) Can we hang out? I hope we could, uhm, yeah. So see you later ten.** I smiled as I stand up on bed and head to the bathroom as I toss my shirt and pajamas to the hamper and went inside the shower, I twist the knob of the showerhead as the water warms my muscles and relieves me, once I’m done. I got out of the shower and dry myself by the warm and dry towel. I left my hair wet and my towel wrapped around my body, I dismiss myself from the bathroom and walk to the closet and pick something to wear, I grabbed an ocean blue tank top with white printed hearts around it. I grabbed my jeans and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I added foundation, a double coat of mascara, and other makeup products. The weather was great today—not too cold, not too warm and my outfit actually fits for this perfect weather. I left a note on the desk and went out of the room, leaving the door locked. As I entered the elevator, I went to the ground floor by waiting patiently. The elevator dings which indicates that I’m on the lobby already, the doors were sliding open as I exited the hotel and meet Ace in the park, the park was only near so I just walk going there but dropped my to buy a snack in case I get hungry.
I was finally at the park and I’m glad that I made it; arms were wrapped around my shoulders behind me, which startled me. I turned around to see the figure who hugged me and I sighed a relief that it was only Ace. “You startled me!” I laughed as he holds a warm and sincere smile around his plump lips.
“You look so beautiful in that outfit, it fits the weather.” He remarks and I blushed silently. “So my mum and dad are inviting you to eat breakfast with us, since we’ve been getting along for a week… so my family invites you to eat with us and get to know you more.”
“I would love to.” I said, holding a warm smile around my lips. “We should get going.” I smirked and I jumped to the passenger seat and buckled up. He finally jumps to the car as he pulls the car off the parking lot. He drives to the opposite direction of our hotel and I’m excited to meet them, but I got that tad of nervousness spinning around me… what if I get too greedy eating? I’m too greedy on food sometimes. Don’t judge me, I know you are too.
His car was parked on a huge and clean garage and his house was huge, it was only a two-story house but it was very huge—a mansion. I can’t believe that I’m getting in and have breakfast with his family in this huge house. He opens the big wooden door and his guest room was huge and amazing! “Your house is amazing!” I gaze at my surroundings.
“Thank you.” He nods. “I’m glad that you liked it.”
“Is this the girl that you’re mentioning every time, son?” A middle-aged man asked Ace, I bet that it’s his father.
“Yes, she’s Shayne.” He responds.
“She’s so beautiful.” He compliments and looks at me. “Welcome, darling. Just feel like home.” He smiles and I smiled back. We entered the kitchen and I grabbed a seat beside Ace. We entered the dining room and I could smell pancakes, her mum was a cook and she looks like forty-five or something? She seems young and… I don’t know.
“Are you Shayne?” She asks, by her sweet voice. “You are so beautiful! It’s pleasure to meet you.” She holds a warm and genuine smile around her lips.
We sat down and I dragged the pancake from another plate to mine. I added syrup and ate it by my fork; Ace’s mum’s pancakes are amazing and delicious. “Thank you for brining me here, it’s really a pleasure.” I spoke to them and smiled.
