Sky walked with Mia and Yui back to home, after shopping.
"So you thought about joining us on the trip?" Mia asked.
"Hmm, well you see my grandpa is coming to visit and said he needs to talk something important" Sky explained "I won't be able to"
"Ow, we so wanted you to!" Yui whined.
"Don't worry, you'll have loads of fun!" Sky told them both.
"Not as much as we have with you around" Yui pointed causing Sky to fall silent.
But soon she recovered and jumped in front of them walking backwards. "Hey, get me lots of pictures okay!"
They were about to reach Yui's home when a car accidentally knocked a lady down. Sky and her friends gasped and ran to help the lady, the driver got out of his car and approached the lady too.
"Are you okay, Mam?" The driver asked. The girls reached to her too and helped her.
"I'm fine" She assured everyone there "nothing serious" she gave a genuine smile. She had wavy hair that was cut short. She had big brown eyes and wore a yellow blouse and white pencil skirt. Mia helped with picking up her groceries as Sky gave her a support to stand along with Yui.
After the lady, who introduced herself as Mrs Higurashi, reassured the driver that there was no big harm caused. The driver left after a hundred apologies.
"Are you sure you'll be able to go home by yourself?" Mia asked her pointing out her scraped and mildly sprained left ankle.
"I'll be fine, dear" Mrs Higurashi insisted as she reached out to take her grocery bag from Mia. But Sky took it instead.
"Where do you live, mam?" Sky asked her.
"I live in the Higurashi Shrine, just a block away. But you don't have to take the trouble. I'll make it to home all fine." She tried to convince Sky as she tried to take her grocery bag.
Skylar hugged the grocery bag and shook her head. "We'll pass the shrine on our way home. So, please let us accompany you" She offered.
Mrs Higurashi couldn't decline. "Okay fine, dear" She passed her a smile.
Sky and her friends helped Mrs Higurashi up the many stairs of the shrine.
"Wow, " Sky exclaimed as she reached the top. "It's beautiful here!"
"Thank you, dear" Mrs Higurashi accepted her compliment. "Coming here for the first time, I see"
"Yes, I actually moved in here this year"
Skylar shrugged. She felt a tugging sensation as she passed the big tree in the centre of the shrine. She stopped in her tracks to look at the magnificent tree. She could feel it's energy. She noticed a small hole in the mid-trunk of the tree. As if someone shot an arrow there. She, for some reason, felt at peace here.
Mrs Higurashi stopped to find her stare at the tree with a glint in her eyes. A smile graced her lips as she came to stand next to her.
"This is the Goshinboku tree" She informed her.
Mia and Yui joined beside Mrs Higurashi.
"Is it one of those tree of ages?" Mia inquired.
Mrs Higurashi nodded in answer. "Let's get inside my home, dear" She gently offered them.
Sky hesitantly nodded as she followed her.
"So where do you girls study?" Mrs Higurashi asked them as she laid out snacks for her in the kitchen.
"Um, at Shiko academy, we are in our final year of high school" Yui answered.
"Wow I've heard that school is really good" Mrs Higurashi complimented.
"Do you live alone?" Mia asked
"Oh no," Mrs Higurashi answered "I live with my two children and my father.
Yui, Mia and Mrs Higurashi fell into conversation as they all enjoyed the delicious snacks. Sky was long ago pulled away from the conversation when she felt a familiar pulsing sensation.
She took deep breaths to calm herself down.
"Is everything okay, Sky?" Yui asked "you are unusually silent"
Mia and Mrs Higurashi looked at her with concern.
She soon shook her head and brought herself to the current time "ya, ya I'm fine." She waved her hands in front. "I was just wondering if we could look around?" She asked.
"Sure dear!" Mrs Higurashi agreed "allow me to show you around"
The three girls gave a bright smile as Mrs Higurashi placed the used plates in the sink and took off her apron.
