Survival rule 101, if you think you are lost in a dense forest, follow the flow of the river, you'll find civilisation. That's what Sky did. She walked down the stream hoping to find a village that could point her towards Kaede's Village.
She stopped and sighed, she was exhausted and felt a bit feverish. She looked towards the river and gave out another long sigh. Man, the modern era is so much easier to live in. She thought. She was too tired to catch some fish so she scanned for something else to eat. Her gaze fell on some berry bush. She walked closer and identified them as edible blue berries. She soon began to pluck a handful of those before she heard someone humming a tune. She cautiously moved towards the bush from where the sound was coming. She peaked from behind the bush to see a small girl picking some blue berries as well. The little girl was dressed in orange and white checked kimono and had a small section of her hair into a side pony.
The girl looked up to meet her gaze.
She squeaked as soon as Sky stood tall.Sky blankly looked at her as the girl ran and hid herself behind a tree.
Sky thought that if she was here it's safe to assume that there's a village near by.
She slowly and carefully made her way towards the tree.
"Um, hello?" She greeted making the little girl timidly peek. "Do you know which direction is the village? I happen to be lost."
The girl shook her head answering no.
"So, are you lost too?" The answer was no again.
"Then are you travelling with someone?""Yes," Sky finally heard her speak.
"Oh, I'm Skylar!" She introduced.
"Rin." She came out from behind the tree and gave Sky a warm smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Rin" Sky smiled but froze as soon as she felt another presence behind her. It made her nervous and she felt like not wanting to turn around.
"Lord Seeshomaru! You are back!" Rin ran past her, this prompted Sky to timidly turn around.
Her blood turned cold as the very same demon in white stood in front of her with his expression as cold as it can be.
"Milord, she is lost." Rin informed him "I think we should help her."
"Rin," He finally spoke, making Sky flinch a bit. "Go and get Jakin." He ordered.
"Yes, milord!" Rin somewhat bowed giving one last look towards Sky before running towards her left.
Sky felt weak and dizzy. Partially due to exhaustion and partially due to fear. Why him, why? Why couldn't it be Inuyasha finding her!
She shook her head as random vision of gruesome slaughter started coming to her.Sesshomaru scanned her up and down. She looked so weak and pathetic. He could notice her slight shiver. Her scent mixed with fear assulted his nose. There was something about her smell that irked him. It was something fimiliar and yet something foreign.
"I think, the last time you did not understand," Sesshomaru clenched his fist shaking with unreasonable anger, or was it? In a second he was holding Sky by her neck against a tree "Go back to wherever you came form!" He tightened his grip around her thin neck. It amused him as to how fragile and a waste of space humans can be.
Sky gasped for air as the demon's hand tried to choke her. Sesshomaru pulled her close to his face intimidating her "Don't you dare to return or that will be the end of you".Sky felt like crying. She didn't understand why this demon was picking on her but then again he wasn't the only one. She felt her wrists warming up and she knew underneath the gray sleeve the silver bands were glowing. The visions of blood and slaughter that were assaulting her stopped and she found the courage to act just after Sesshomaru pulled her close and threatened to kill her.
She held his hand with both her hands and twisted her body, getting out from his grip and hitting the ground.Sky backed a couple of steps to maintain her distance from him. She looked straight at him matching his coldness. She studied him. He couldn't be totally bad, that little girl proved that point just a while ago but why did he have to treat her this way.
"I don't know what your problem is" Her voice came out void of any emotion "but believe me when I say, I'll return no matter what." Sesshomaru felt an urge to choke her when she verbally defied him. His hand itched to snap that neck of hers. He shot her a warning glare but either she was too dense to catch it or she had a death wish.
She continued to speak "I don't understand what your problem is! But you know what," her eyes narrowed "your problem is not mine and you are not my authority, so you don't command me."That was it. That was all it took for Lord Sesshomaru to snap and unleash his poison whip at her. Sky didn't flinch instead she grabbed the green whip, holding it in her fist. The poison attempted to burn her skin but there was a limit to how much burn that poison could inflict on her. She smirked, eversince the time when a black mamba bit her during a camp with her family, she knew poison couldn't kill her, though she did manage to scare the hell out of Takumi and her parents at that time.
Sesshomaru attempted to pull back his whip but the human opponent had a firm hold on it. So, he ran towards her to deliver a puch but something intervened.
"Wind Scar!" Inuyasha swung his sword with full force and directed his attack at Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru smelled the wind scar in time and hence, dodged it.
Sky felt a rush of heat invade her body. She could feel a fever coming she so successfully suppressed all this time, and now that Inuyasha was here she knew she could be weak and careless until she healed. The last thing she witnessed was Inuyasha jumping between her and Sesshomaru, again, before she collapsed.
