Twelve years ago

A loud crash echoed around the house causing me to let out a high pitch scream. "Mommy what's that noise?" I pleaded. "Where's aunt Lisa?" I cried, tears falling from my eyes.

"It's nothing sweetie, aunt Lisa is fine! Stay here, I'll be right back!" Mom tried to assure me in a rush, before running out of my bedroom and slamming the door.

Screaming her name, I banged my fists against the door, too afraid to leave my room. The noises were getting louder.

Suddenly the door reopened and mommy came back with Alec stood next to her. Why was he in my room? He's a boy?!

With furrowed brows, I watched as he wiped a tear off his cheek. What is happening?

"Mommy what's happening? Why is everyone crying? Mommy I'm scared?"

With loud sobs I ran up to her and wrapped myself around her leg. My moms hands ran through my hair gently and she let out a sigh. Picking me up and clasping onto Alec's hand, she lead us towards my pink princess bed. Mom got it for me because she said I'm a princess.

"Everything fine," mom smiled placing me down in my bed and holding both of our hands "Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jeremy are just talking and they knocked over a glass that's all."

I don't like uncle Jeremy he's mean and he's never home.

A strange noise came from Alec's throat, he looked...angry. I rolled my eyes at him and nodded at mommy

"Ok mommy, I'm glad everything's ok."

"Just go to sleep." She whispered tucking me into bed with a kiss on my temple, then placed Alec next to me.

"With him?" I exclaimed pointing to Alec "I don't want to sleep with a boy." I gasped, looking to Alec to see him nodding in agreement.

Mommy smiled, she's really pretty. "I'm sorry babies, it's just for tonight, tomorrow Alec will be back in his bed. Lisa and Jeremy are talking and only adults are allowed to hear."

With a pout I nodded, then mommy left, turning the light off, leaving us in the dark.

"...Alec?"

"What?"

"Are you ok?"

"...yeah."

"Good."

"Stop! I was here first!" I shouted pushing Alec to the side so I could walk into the front yard.

"Yeah well I was born first!" Alec snapped back pulling on my backpack bringing me to a halt so he could run past me.

Running up to him, I shoved him in the back almost knocking him over. "You're so annoying!"

"Yeah? Well you're ugly." He replied shoving me away as he made his way to the front door.

Just I was about to shove him again we heard a loud crash and stopped in our tracks. Both of us looked at each other with wide eyes.
