"Emergency? Why ?what happened!?"I said
"Please we don't have time to explain, Please come as fast as you can. She's in grave danger."
Saying so the person ended the call
I get up and leaving the sleeping Saori as she was . I quickly head towards my bike and then i see a staff member of the cafè
"Hey Kakei, Where ya' headed?"she asked
"Uh..Saori, she's inside . Please look after her .I have to go." I say to her as i head towards the hospital
My heart was racing and i didn't know what happened .
I reach the hospital and as soon as I enter, I see a nurse that asked me probably judging from my face "Are you Kakei?"
"Yes," I say, and the next thing i hear was,"Your sister's fell unconscious. Her lungs are failing and she's in the ICU right now"
Those words struck my heart, and I didn't know what to say. I started with a weak voice, "Is- is she alright?"
"We're not sure right now. Please stay calm, we'll let you know later." She said as she went her way
I waited outside the ICU cabin, hoping my sister is alright . It was already 11:00 pm and i just kept thinking about her.
" Fukari, I shouldn't have left her alone, even-though I knew she wasn't feeling well"
[ Kakei's sister's name was Fukari ]
...
I glanced at my watch, just to see it was 2:00 am already.
Should I tell my parents about this now? How will they-
Creak.
I got startled at the sudden sound, but it was the opening of the door. So i got up as the doctor came out from the ICU and I approached them
"Doctor, How is she?" I asked just as they came out
The doctor took a look at me and then answered "She's a little better now but still she needs rest . We still haven't checked out what really happened to her but for now, she's fine."
I took in a breath and then asked " Can i go meet her now?"
"Yeah,sure" he said to me
Just as he did, I went towards the room.
There Fukari was lying on bed making origami with the napkins on the side
I approach her and sit beside the bed. I then ask holding her hands "Fuka, How're you feeling now?"
She smiled at me and said "I'm feeling better now. Sorry I made you worry *Coughs*"
"Hey, you should rest. You need anything?"I ask her
"Hmm...Do you have a book for borrowing, I think i'll get bored just staying here ."
I search my bag and then the only book i had was Saori's book . Then I took it out
"Here , this is the fist edition book given to me by the author herself . I've just read a chapter of it before and it's amazing!"I say as i hand her the book
"Wow!Really?? Thanks big brother!" She said as she got all excited
"If you need some more, just tell me. There's a book fair coming up this week ." I say to her
"Sure! "She says as she started reading the book
I stand up and say "Okay then, I'll come back in a bit okay?"
I go out of the room and call dad :
"Dad.It's me, Kakei"
"Yes Kakei, what's the matter ?why're you calling me at this time?"
"Dad. Fukari, she's been hospitalized . I told this to you because mom has a weak heart. "
"Fukari! What happened ?"
"Dad, Dad. Don't freak out . She's alright right now . She was not feeling well in the morning and now she's been hospitalized . Dad , Please come here fast . I can't take care of her alone."
"Okay . Me and your mum will be there by tomorrow "
"Dad, Please don't make Mum worry alright?"
"Sure, we'll be on on our way"
Saying so I hung up and then
"Big brother!!!"Fukari called me
"Fukari, what happened? "I say rushing towards her
"Big brother! This book is amazing !!" She said to me
I sat on the bed and told her " You remember that girl who came to our house a few days ago?"
"Uh,...Oh, Yeah. I remember her."she said
"Yeah, she's the author ."I said
"Huh? Really ???"
"Yup! "
"So she gave you this book?"she asked
"Yeah , the copies will be sold tomorrow. Ah... I mean today , It's already 2:00am so."
"So, you mean this is the first original copy?"
"Yeah. Fuku, i think you should sleep . It's already late"I said to her
"Yeah, I think i am getting sleepy now . Goodnight brother"
"Goodnight" I say as i tucked her in
As she slept i decided to send a text to Saori :
Saori, sorry for leaving you at the cafè like that . Something came up and I had to go. Anyways my sister says that your book is amazing .
Doing so then I tried sleeping on the bench of the room
