"Happy birthday, bud!" I ruffle my cousin's hair and chuckle as he groans in annoyance either at my actions or the nickname I gave him.

"Alex I'm twenty years old now, I think 'bud' is something I'm not anymore." Yep, definitely the nickname.

"Um no, you're still the youngster I grew up with and love as my own brother." I pat his cheek and hold back the tears that well up behind my eyes as his grow softly sympathetic.

"You're being sappy." Jacob states, giving me a small smile. "..and it's disgusting." I nudge him on the shoulder after I heard his mutter.

"Sorry, jeez! I can't help that my best buddy is growing older." I wipe invisible tears from my cheeks and pretend to sniffle.

"And I'm still older, too, hah!" He sticks out his tongue at me, which makes my eyes roll. He's been practically an adult for about two years and still acts like a five year old.

"Wow, way to kill the mood." I walk past his tall figure to the refrigerator and almost got surprised how I stand at his shoulder now. It used to be the opposite, but he got his growth spurt during high school when mine slowed down.

"I had to. Your talk got too intense for me." Jacob starts fanning himself by waving his shirt off and against his torso.

"Please don't blind me with your six pack that the gods blessed you with overnight." I say when I turn around to see him lifting the hem of his T-shirt up.

"Whatever, you're just jealous." He smirks and pulls the cotton off the top half of his body. "Plus turn down the AC, it is ridiculously warm." I rolled my eyes at the statement. Like he did so much to set up his party.

"First off, I have a right to be jealous because somehow, someway, you turned from pudgy Jacob to a Jacob with a 'lol I'm f*cking your mom' body." I pointed at his thin figure and then looked up at the ceiling, imagining it's the heavens. "I need my cousin back, by the way." With that, he just laughed it off and began to back away from me, but then I stopped him.

"Hold up, I'm not done." I held up my hand to mimic a stopping motion. "Secondly, I won't turn down the AC because this house's electric bill is way too high." I make sure to put emphasis on "way."

"Are you done?" Jacob crosses his arms in front of his chest to seem annoyed, even though I knew he loved our little banters deep down. I didn't complain since it covered his perfectly tanned torso.

Instead I silently cursed whoever god gave him his glo-up, because he never tried to have it or did anything good in his life. I mean I'm probably exaggerating but I've been waiting for ages to get a nice body that I'm confident in and he just gets it in a few hours!

"One more," I smile cheekily and hold up my index finger, "I'm surprised you didn't invite more people and have a big extravagant party." I mention after take a sip of my water. All this talking got my throat struggling terribly.

"You talk a lot even though you only got a few hours of sleep." He points out firstly and couldn't help smiling. My cousin looks around the somewhat empty house around us, and I try to not notice that he just ignored all my rambling.

The house became at a normal sound level with Jacob and I not talking. The only noises were the buzzing of the fridge and whispers of the multiple televisions that were on.

My band and our tour partners went out to the studio with demos to give our producers. They'll probably put finishing touches on the two songs, before we will be able to add it to our setlist. Luke knows all of the arrangements I planned on adding luckily, so I didn't have to worry about not being there with them.
