ALEX POV
“MY GIRL?” taking-taka na tanong ko sa mga huling katagang sinabi ni Cherish. Nagkatinginan si Chandria at si Cherish. Kumunot ang ulo ni Chandria. Nahuli ko yun.
“oh!! What I mean is...” patigil tigil si Cherish, “you know, like the old times? Paco used to flirt my bestfriend.. and now he’s flirting your girl, AGAIN.. I guess?” she tried to make faces.
“uhm, Cherish, she’s not my girl..”
“yeah, and I’m sorry for that.. thanks by the way..”
“thanks? for what?”
“for loving my best friend, I can see you still love her..”
Napatingin nanaman si Cherish kay Chandria. Am I missing something? It’s like they’re talking eye to eye.
“what do you mean by that Cherish? Are you trying to say na mas pabor pa sayo na hindi ako makaget over sa best friend mo? Is that it?”
“ohh.. don’t get me wrong! of course not, Alex.. It’s just..” she paused. “let’s just not talk about her, I came here to visit your beautiful perfect resort.. right chef?”
“yeah..” Chandria gave a closed mouth smile.
“so.. let’s start?”
“sure..” sabay sabay kaming tumayo para sa venue visiting ni Cherish.
“uhm, Alex, pwede ba natin isama si Chandria?”
Tumingin muna ako kay Chandria bago ako sumagot sa tanong ni Cherish.
“ofcourse!”
Habang naglalakad lakad kami, patuloy lang sa pag kukwento si Cherish tungkol sa success na meron ako ngayon.
“wow ha, ang ganda ng design, yung landscape, everything Mixa planned? It’s here..”
“Cherish..” tumingin ako sa kanya.
“Alex, how deep is that pool?”
Napatawa ako, I’m sure as hell she knows the answer.
“you know.. why do you keep asking me questions that you already know the answer? Huh?”
“oh really? I do?”
“Cherish, 7 years ago, laging nire-recite ni Mixa sa atin ang mga balak nya sa resort when she found out that I want to build and own one..”
“yeah I remember, malay mo lang, nakikinig pala sa’tin si Mish ngayon? Maybe she wants to confirm that you did everything she designed for your future..”
“sana nga nakikinig sya, sana nga nakikita nya lahat nang ‘to, lahat ng bagay na pinagplanuhan namin pareho..”
“it’s okay.. I know she’s happy.. I’m pretty damn sure she’s happy..” she sighed. Nginitian ko lang si Cherish. Si Chandria naman, kanina pa palinga-linga na parang hindi mapakali.
“are you okay?” tanong ko sa kanya. Sabay din napatingin si Cherish sa kanya. “you look kinda pale..”
SRSLY. CHANDRIA LOOKS SO PALE. IT’S LIKE SHE’S GOING TO PASS OUT ANY TIME SOON.
“Alex, pwede bang samahan muna ako ni chef sa bathroom, and I think she needs some water..”
“yeah sure, Chandria will guide you..”
“thanks..”
Umalis na sila pero mga 2 meters palang ang layo nila sakin ay tinawag ko si Cherish.
“Cherish!”
“yeah?”
“by the way, the pool.. it’s 5 ft.!”
“yeah, I know..” with that, unti unti na silang nawala sa paningin ko.
