"Are you sure that's where Parrish is taking the bodies?" Theo asked as both of us entered the library.
After I witnessed that tiny incident between Liam and Hayden I turned back to school and found Theo, deciding to tell him what I learned today in general.
"Lydia says that's what happens in his dream." I assured, walking between the shelves so less people would see us. As far as we know and as much as Parrish had told Lydia, in his dream he's taking more and more dead bodies around the Nemeton.
He then lightly bit his lower lip and gave me a look of slight concern. "You do realize that if she finds the Nemeton she's also going to find Donovan?" His almost teasing voice reached the core of my bones, resulting in shivering.
"She's also going to find Josh." I retorted, crossing my hands on my chest and piercing his argent orbs.
He took in my remark as a challenge by giving me a cheeky smirk. "You know what, maybe he should." His smile faltered speaking those words.
I felt numb at the thought that our – my – sinister secrets are out to my friends.
"I think things are different now for Scott." Theo continued. "Especially after what he did to Corey. I don't think he's going to blame us for defending ourselves." There was a gap of silence, just us staring at each other. "I know he won't blame you."
I stared back at him, contemplating the possibilities. Scott is a True Alpha for a reason, he has never killed an innocent soul. I closed my eyes and turned my head to the side, trying to calm the accusations in my head, but when I opened them I saw a vision of myself being pierced with the same metal rod that Donovan was. I had blood mixed with mercury dripping out of my mouth.
"Nonsense." I spat out, shaking my head and trying to forget what I had just hallucinated. "I mean, yeah, he would probably forgive us, but the things would never be the same."
He sighed and looked around. "Anything else you want to tell me?"
"Actually, yes." He raised one eyebrow at me, showing his interest. "I-I overheard Liam and Hayden today. They were just talking, and then..." I stopped, trying to pick the best words.
"Then?"
"...then Hayden had silver coming out from her nose."
Theo's brows furrowed, giving off his concern. Bewilderment flashed across his features.
"She asked Liam not to tell anyone, though."
Then Theo's face crooked with that inviting half smile of his. "But you told me."
I shrugged my shoulders and looked at the ground before looking back at him with slightly flushed cheeks. "Yeah, I did."
He started to tauntingly approach me, making me take step after step backwards. "Why is that?" He purred.
I prayed to God to give me a rational answer, but I didn't even manage to remember a proper prayer when Theo gripped my waist and leaned me to the shelf gracefully, looming in front of me himself. He stood so close that his leather jacket brushed with my jersey sweatshirt.
"I-It's important information." I muttered, our lips almost brushing as I talked.
He leered at me with a satisfied smile before backing off a bit, so he could see my face fully. He then weaved a lock of my sable hair around his finger. "Good girl."
With that, he stepped a couple of steps backwards and headed out of the library, winking me a goodbye.
What a tease.
