Jeremy

After picking up breakfast I walked back into the apartment to surprise Haley. I really hoped she was still there, that hopefully she could put a little trust in me. Walking into the living room I knew she already left. The blanket was folded neatly on the couch. It looked as if no one has slept there at all. I laughed sardonically about how she was able to erase herself so easily. I put the extra cup of coffee and muffins on the kitchen table and walked to my bedroom. I had suddenly lost my appetite and all I wanted to do was lay down and wallow about what I could have possibly done wrong. I laid in my bed for maybe an hour or two before I finally came to the conclusion that I was finally off my rockers. I mean I'm Jeremy Fulton and what's one girl to the million in the sea. EVERYTHING!!! my subconscious screamed. I ignored it because I know I can totally get over this silly and puny little crush right? NOT A CHANCE IN HELL! it sang. I put my head in my hands and wondered why I always got the complicated girl with the complicated problems. Didn't I get enough of having my own? In the midst of my breakdown I heard knock on the door and that only pissed me off more. Stomping my way towards the door, I pulled it open ready to yell at the person standing on the other side. Building an intake of breath and ready to bellow it all out, I stopped in my tracks. Confusion forming on my face, I closed my mouth to see an unknown woman standing in front of me. Her hair was dark brown at the roots and slowly switched to strawberry blonde down her wavy waist length curls. Hazels eye stared back at me in surprise. She was fair skinned woman almost as if she hadn't seen the light of day in a while. She was stick thin and had at height of around 5'8". What confused me the most was that this porcelain like resemblance of Haley was staring back at me. She stared at me as if she wasn't expecting me to be here but this is my apartment. I decided to break the silent staring contest to question this Haley wannabee.

"Can I help you?" I asked the woman.

"Yeah...um...is H-Haley around?...I know she was here because I saw you two the other night. You guys didn't see me but you know I just thought I visit." She laughed nervously while trying to subtly look into the apartment.

"So you followed us all the way to the apartment?" I asked while repositioning myself to full height. She looked down at the ground before answering. I couldn't tell if I wanted to buy her act or not, so I waited patiently.

"Yeah I wasn't sure if that was her you know? Haven't really seen her in a longtime" she replied.

"So why didn't you just call out her name to see if it was her?" I questioned.

"Um...I-I just didn't want to-" Cutting her off I asked, "what did you say your name was again?"

She tucked her ear behind her ear, "I didn't...I'm Casey- Casey Graham. Taking in this information I decided I'll ask Haley about her later.

"Yeah...nice to meet you...I'll tell Haley you visited" I responded while keeping my face stoically composed, no matter the suspicions running through my mind, I shut the door and went back to my room to wallow. Also, promising myself that at some point today I would text Haley about her friend and play off yesterday as if it never happened.
