The Diamond Exchange
Kae came back, her report was short
old cabin with a hidey hole
held letters and souvenirs
And she found a place to live
right on Main Street in Busted Gulch
Hungry and tired she had to eat first
stannbear and 3Gun bought dinner
when finished she asked about
a Galina Diamond, the name in the letters
stannbear knew it would fall on him
to learn about her from his aunts
He wondered why they were paying
for an investigator that asked them to
find a suspect while eating free meals
and tracking river mud on the clean
saloon floor
The women in the jail were mad.
They wanted a bath and a change of clothes.
stannbear said he'd tell 3Gun
He asked Steel and Olla about Galina
and they refused to answer
He said cooperation might get them
better treatment. They said, explain.
