Lost Yet Found

Chapter 22 - "Nothing, I'm fine."

Sorry about how complicated that last chapter was but I need to get all that in there, so I could write this chapter.

{Demi's P.O.V.} 

I opened the hotel room door and walked to the bed where Emily was sleeping, but before I got to the bed I noticed a small amount of blood on the floor, my eyes widened and I walked over to Emily and shook her shoulder. She opened her eyes and said "oh..hey your back," I replied "yea I'm back and there's blood on the floor, why," Emily closed her eyes and said "Natalia's father dropped by, and um Derek spared my life for a third time." I sighed and said "what really happened you can't fool me that easily," she replied "well let's just say throwing knives don't always kill you," I sat down and said "let me see, what happened."

Emily shook her head and said "no, I'm fine really," I said "well thats not like you, what's up," She shook her head and replied "nothing, I'm fine,"  I sighed and said "okay, fine be that way," as I got up to walk away. Emily said "wait, I'm sorry it's just I'm trying to protect my friend," I turned around and said "this friend is Derek isn't it," she sighed and said "yea, I can't lie to you, he kissed me then I kissed him and we are kinda sorta together." I raised my eyebrows and replied "and all this happened in about the three and a half hours I was gone, okay well, as long as he doesn't pressure you into doing something you shouldn't, okay."

She nodded and I said "can I see  your wound now, please," she said "only if you unwrap it your self I'm exhausted," I lifted up her shirt and began carefully unwrapping the wound as she sat up. When I unwrapped all the gauze she said "Derek stitched and cauterized it," I said "I know what it's like to have a partially bleeding stomach wound cauterized, you must of been in such terrible pain, I'm sorry I wasn't here to help you." She sighed and said "I um... don't tell Derek, but I almost passed out, a-lot," I rewrapped the gauze around her and said "I wish you would've just called 9-1-1." She said "but what would you of thought, you'd of cancelled the rest of the concert, because you would've been crying, because you would be so scared for me you wouldn't be able to continue performing, I can't do that to your career."

I said "I put you in front of my career because I care about you more then my career," Emily nodded and said "I know," I smiled and said "I filled out your adoption paperwork today your social worker gave me the papers in case I wanted to adopt you and I sent them out today. So in a few days you will legally be my daughter," Emily smiled and said "OH MY GOD, thank you so much, Demi, you have no idea how happy I am right now." I laughed and responded "I've got a pretty good idea," Emily rolled her eyes and said "really you sure," Emily then closed her eyes and winced in pain she continued "can we get some rest now, I'm really tired." I said "you get some rest, I'll check on you when I finish getting ready for bed," Emily laid down and closed her eyes. I walked back over to her when I finished getting ready for bed, she's sound asleep,  I walked over to my bed and laid down, I closed my eyes and fell asleep tired as well.

I woke up to the sound of arguing "it was Emily and some guys voice," I got up and followed the sound over to the bathroom quietly I heard Emily say "Derek thank you for the warning, but you should go if your gone too long what will Nat's dad think." I opened the door to see Emily holding hands with Derek and said "hey, what's going on," she said "Derek came to warn me that Natalia's father is coming after you now that he thinks I'm dead." I sighed and said "thanks for the warning, but what is he going to think when he finds out Emily is alive," Derek sighed and said "he'll kill me then her when he gets to her, I don't think she'll get out of dying this time."

Emily turned to me and said "he wants me to run away with him, but if I leave you will most likely die, I can't let that happen," I shook my head and said "I want you to go with him lay low for a little while, I'll be okay." I smiled and tears ran down her cheeks she hugged me and said "I don't want to lose you," I replied "I know," and kissed her forehead, I turned to Derek and said "your really going to protect her, and keep her safe."  

He nodded and said "I will try my best," I replied "you better, now go both of you, keep each other safe,"  Derek led Emily out or the hotel room tears falling down her face. I sighed and said "let's hope I live through whatever these men are planning to do," to myself, I walked over to the bed and sat down I closed my eyes and let the tears fall down my face. 

{Emily's P.O.V.}

Derek led me out of the hotel and toward a building around the block he said "when's her next concert," I said "tomorrow," Derek replied "we'll be there to watch and protect her, we'll find a way to get to the next concert." I smiled and wrapped my arms around Derek and said "thank you for everything you've done," he shrugged as I released him and said "don't thank me yet I'm not done helping." Then he grabbed my arm and said "so I know your an alley kid but I didn't tell you that I'm an alley kid too," I smirked and gave him a shove then said "well then alley kid, I'll race you to the airport."
