Chapter 38 - Troubles

here's an update guys thank you so much for your support, I hope that you guys like where this story is going... if you think I should change something well don't be shy to give me your opinion I love feedback. {Emily's P.O.V.}

I woke up in my bed, weird I thought I fell asleep with Demi's electric guitar in my hands, Demi or Nick must of put me in the guest room, I got up and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Nick taught me a few things on the guitar yesterday, we played all day long, Demi came in and sang along while Wilmer stood in the doorway with a smile on his face, it was so fun, I hope that we can do more stuff like that. I also learned a-lot of Nick song Chains yesterday, I walked out of the bathroom and jumped when Nick said "hey rocker," as he walked out of Demi's room, my eyes widened and I said "you...and Demi...did you guys...?" He shook his head and said "no,no, your sleeping in the guest bedroom and she wanted to talk, and Wilmer was already asleep on the couch, so we went into her room to talk and kinda fell asleep."

I sighed and replied "okay," as I walked downstairs I grabbed an apple from the kitchen and went to it on the couch but Wilmer was sleeping there, so I walked upstairs and into Demi's room. She's in the shower so I laid down on the bed and sighed before I got up and walked back downstairs to throw away the apple core, I then said "I'll be outside if you need me," Nick replied"I'll go with you." I walked over to the tall sturdy tree I was in yesterday, and began climbing, Nick said "be careful," I leaned back so that I was now hanging upside down, I crossed my arms over my chest and looked down at him and responded "I'll try." I then pulled myself up so I was sitting and looked out over the roof of the house, at the horizon and became lost in my troublesome thoughts.

{Demi's P.O.V.}

I walked out of the bathroom after getting dressed, brushing my teeth and drying my hair, I walked downstairs and over to Wilmer who was sleeping on the couch, I shook his shoulder and said "wake up Wilmer, it's almost 10:00am," he sat up and said "okay I'm up...I'm going to take a shower is that okay?" I replied "yea...I don't mind," I then grabbed a breakfast bar and walked outside to  where nick who was sitting on the patio looking up at a tree, I questioned "what are you looking at?" He replied "not a what Demi, a who, and it's your daughter," I turned and looked to see Emily perched in the tree, staring off into the distance, I smiled amused and said "I need to take that girl rock climbing."

Nick laughed and said "I'm sure she'd love that," I smiled and said "you know she really likes you," I sat down at the table next to to Nick and said "she does?, well I mean of course she does or she wouldn't hang out with me." I laughed and replied "I noticed last night that, she gets this light in her eyes when you, Emily and me are all together and having fun, it's like she gets a sense of family, almost." 

Nick nodded and said "I noticed that too, I understand that, we were all on tour together, for a while, we hang out all the time, and she doesn't have family that's not trying to kill her left, so she thinks of us her closest friend as her family." I smiled and said "and your totally cool with that?," he nodded and said "yea, I actually really like hanging out with her, it's fun, it's like hanging out with a small adult, she doesn't act like a kid you know."

I sighed and replied "that's because her childhood ended as soon as that car crash that killed her family sent her to the orphanage, she had to grow up too fast, she's a warrior," Nick nodded and said "yea....so when you do get around to taking her rock climbing, can I come?" I smirked and said "I don't know you'll have to ask Emily," Nick smirked back and responded "fine I will," we both laughed, and I said "so you want to go rock climbing later today or tomorrow?" Nick thought for a second and replied "today is fine, but what about Wilmer?," I shrugged and said "I'll ask him, but I don't think he'll come," Nick gave me a confused look replying "why?, is it because of your guys's breakup?" I nodded and he said "well we can still have fun."

I heard the rustling of branches before Emily jumped out of the tree, and walked over to us she said "hey, what are you guys talking about," I replied "nothing important, why don't you get changed then I'll take you somewhere fun." Nick got up and said "text me the address of the place and I'll meet you there, I'm going to go home and get changed," I walked inside after Emily and sat next to Wilmer on the couch. He said "Demi I think I'm going to go, you seem like your okay, but...if you need anything..don't hesitate to call...," I replied "okay...thank you again, Wilmer."

He nodded at me as he walked out the front door, Nick walked out after him, and I texted him the name and address of the rock climbing place, Emily came downstairs and said "so where are we going?" I replied "rock climbing," Emily's eyes lit up and she ran over and gave me a hug, I laughed and said "Nick's going to meet us there." Emily smiled and said "thank you so much mom," I replied "it's no problem baby girl, now let's go get in the car," Emily let go of me and we both walked into the garage and got into the car.
