Chapter 52 - Starting School

Here's an update guys ik i cant really post every day like i did during the summer since i'm in school now I'm sorry about that but you guys have to be patent i will update just not everyday. I deeply apologize but I get really busy with homework. btw I think this chapter sucks in the begining, but at the end it gets better trust me.

{Demi's P.O.V.}

I woke up about an hour before Emily so I could get ready, Nick is downstairs making breakfast for all of us, I walked into Emily's room and heard what sounded like her whimpering and crying, I rushed over to her bed and shook her awake. She backhanded me hard across the face as she sat up, I put a hand to my stinging red cheek and said "Emily baby girl it's me it's Demi, relax, it's just me." She wrapped her arms around me and said "mom, I dreamt that they killed you and Nick," I wrapped my arms around her and said "I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen. Now in the meantime can you please get ready for your first day of school," she nodded and said "I'm sorry I hit you, I didn't mean to?"

I put a hand to cover my cheek and said "it's not your fualt I don't blame you, you were dreaming about something awful, and defended yourself," she sighed and nodded before opening her mouth to say something I put a hand up and she closed her mouth I said "it's fine, it's not your fualt you have nightmares," before I turned and walked down stairs, I looked in the bathroom mirror as I pass. I sighed realizing that I'm most likely going to have a large bruise on my cheek, I then walked into the kitchen to where Nick was now plating breakfast.

{Emily's P.O.V.}

I walked downstairs and sat down at the table where Demi and Nick were already eating, Demi said "the backpack on the back of your chair is for you to take to school. I nodded and said "thank you," as I finished eating I quickly put on my shoes and grabbed my backpack, when Demi finished eating and said "you ready to go to school?" Closing my eyes I took a deep breath and said "yea," before opening them as I got into the car, Demi then got in and said "it'll be okay."

I got out as Demi pulled up in front of the school, after walking into the building I stopped at the office to pick up my schedule and locker number. Before I headed off to first period which was Language Arts, I walked into the classroom and sat down in an empty desk. I began to hear people whispering and looking at me weird, I tried my best to ignore all the stares and comments.

At lunch I sat alone on a corner of a random table, until a group of girls walked over to me and sat down next to/across from me. I questioned "um...can I help you?," one of the girls said "yea... are you Emily Lovato, Demi Lovato's daughter?" I nodded and said "yea and?," another one of the girls rolled her eyes at me and said "that makes you one of the coolest popular people at the school." I just shrugged replying "I don't really want to be popular or treated differently, I'm just a normal teenager like any of you."

At the end of the day when I finished getting my homework from my locker a tall guy walked over to me and said "hey, so you're Emily Lovato right." I nodded and said "yea, so," he leaned on the locker next to me and said "so do you wanna go out with the MVP of the football team." I rolled my eyes and said "no thanks, I don't really want to go out with anyone," the guy stood up straighter and said "I guess the rumors about you are true, everyone thinks your weird, you freak."

He shoved me back against the locker as he walked away, I closed my eyes and sighed mumbling "how come at every school I go to, I always end up being labeled a weird freak that everyone hates." I was dragged into a classroom as I walked by and said "hey, what the hell," as I turned around, the girls who sat down next to me at lunch were standing infront of me, one of them said "what's your deal, the hottest guy in school just asked you out and you tell him, you don't want to date anyone." 

Another of them said "what the hell is wrong with you, if your going to act like a freak you don't deserve anyone to care about you, Demi Lovato shouldn't of adopted you," after having said that they went to walk out of the room. I closed my eyes and threw a punch at the girl, she punched me in the stomach and another one of them gave me a really hard blow to the nose, then they left. I brought my hand up and noticed that my nose was bleeding, I grabbed some tissues from the front desk and then angrily made my way out of the school, I walked over to Demi's car and got in. 

She looked at me and said "what the f**k happened to you," I rolled my eyes and said "school," she then turned back around and said "I'm sorry, I'll fill out the paperwork to pull you out tomorrow, but you will have to go to school tomorrow." I sighed and said "it's fine, I'm used to it, kids treated me the same way when I went to public school while I was at the orphanage," Demi stayed silent the rest of the drive home.
