Chapter 43 - Our Relationship

here's a update folks, I am back at school so I'm sry about all the delayed updates but I hope that just makes you want them more. this chapter is Dedicated to Katycat2323 (Wendy's) best friend Josh who has been there for her when none of her online friends can no matter how much we wish we could. I send my prayers to him and Wendy, stay strong the both of you, and thank you so much Josh for everything you've done to help me and Wendy.(he is currently running her account since she is in the hospital).

I woke up and got out of bed to go check on Emily to my surprise she was downstairs with Nick, they were both watching T.V. I questioned  "what are you guys watching?," Emily replied "Once Upon A Time season 6." I replied "oh, I've heard about that, is it good," Nick and Emily replied "yea," at the same time, and then we all laughed, I turned to Nick and said "what time is it?," he replied almost six."

I nodded and walked into the kitchen to start dinner, and called out "Nick come help me make dinner," he walked into the kitchen and said  "what do you need my lady," and he bowed, I rolled my eyes and laughed. I told him can you start the vegetables while I season the chicken and preset the oven, Nick did as I asked and soon he finished cooking the vegetables so we were just waiting on the meat to be done.

I walked out of the kitchen and over to Emily and said "how's your breathing," she replied "still a little troubled, but I'm fine mom," I nodded and wrapped an arm over her shoulder and said "you scared me today." She turned to me and responded "I scared myself too, I think we both thought I was going to choke to death," I smiled and said "let's hope that doesn't happen, and um... I want to talk to you about going to school. Do you want to go to public school, or online school, and you'll be in the 7th grade, right?," 

{Emily's P.O.V.}

I nodded and replied "um...let's see how public school goes, then if I hate it there, I'll do it online," Demi smiled and said "okay, sounds like a plan," as she got up and waked into the kitchen she replied "good talk." I gave a small laugh as Nick said "the oven went ding so I pulled out the chicken, and set the table," I heard Demi reply "awe Nick that was so sweet of you, I was going to do that." I heard Nick say "it's no problem Dem, really," Demi came back into the room and scooped me up off the couch before she carried me into the dining room she set me down on my chair and we all began to eat. After Dinner Demi told Nick that she wanted to talk to him in her room, and that it was a private conversation, not for my ears, so she told me to stay on the couch and watch T.V..

{Demi's P.O.V.}

Nick and I sat and talked about Emily and what's going on, and the upcoming Mexico leg of our tour, Nick and I are laying down on my bed facing each other, and Nick says "Demi we haven't talked about us.... I mean I know you just recently broke up with your boyfriend. I...I just feel like something's different about our friendship, like something's changed between us," I nodded and replied "your right something has changed between us, Emily, your trying to be a dad to her and I love that." 

I took a long pause before I continued "it's just, your can't truly be like her dad, if you....and um...I.....aren't really...like together.....," Nick gazed at me for a second and said "are you trying to tell me that you think we should be like together as...in...a couple...." I stayed silent for a second before replying "it's only for Emily's sake, I mean she thinks of the three of us as her family." 

Nick nodded agreeing and said "right so we are like still friends but we just have the title of a couple, like I move in and we live together but we don't like make out or have sex, or anything like that." I smiled and said "yea....unless you know you want to get together like that...because I would...maybe be..okay with the idea of us being an official couple," Nick replied "I would....maybe..be open to that....idea too." 

I smiled then Nick smiled, and he slowly inched closer and closer to me until his forehead was resting on mine and he said "Demetria Devonne Lovato, are you 100% sure that you want this, that you are 150% okay, and that you're not just in love with how I treat your daughter." I nodded and said "I love the way you treat Emily, and I love the way you treat me, and protect me and Emily..that's why I'm okay with the idea of us being a couple...."

Nick nodded and said "okay," before he leaned down and kissed my cheek, he let his lips linger on my cheek for about a minute before he pulled them away, I smiled and blushed, and I turned my head to hide it. Nick put his hand under my chin and turned my head to face him, and he said "you don't need to look away, Demi," I replied "I know, Nick," as he leaned down and kissed my other cheek. 

This time when he pulled away he purposefully brushed his lips over mine and I smiled and giggle, and said "are we really, doing this?," he replied "we can call kissing as friends because we have actually kissed before." He nodded replying "true, but what will Emily think?" I replied "I think she'd be happy that the 2 most important people in her life are coming together for her sake. I think she'll be extremely happy for the both of us, but I have no idea what Wilmer will think...," Nick sighed and said "I'll explain it to him if you want me to," I shook my head and replied "no, I need to do it...I just hope he understands."
