Crumbling Limbs & Teleportation

KAT

At this point, I have no idea what I should be worried about more: controlling my powers so I don’t cause a massive twister, or dealing with the searing pain coming from my ankle.

I tried a countless amount of times to stand up, but time after time, I would end in failure.  The moment I closed my eyes in defeat, secretly hoping that God would put me out of my misery, a voice called out to me. It wasn’t the voice of God like I was hoping for, but instead a voice that I didn’t want to hear.

“Now princess, why don’t you get your little butt back inside, so we can handle this like-“

A faint gasp admitted from Noel’s lips as he gazed down at me. The wind hadn’t slowed down a single bit, so his dark ebony hair was blowing in every direction. His eyes were locked on my ankle and in seconds, he already scooped me up from the ground while turning sharply towards the tiny wooden cabin.

The moment he took his first steps, I began to panic once again. I had just left that dang cabin and was trying to escape from it! I most definitely didn’t want to go back!

Like an instinct, my arms started to flail and with as much force as I could manage with my injured ankle, I pushed Noel’s chest away from me.

When I did this, Noel went rigid and let out a scowl. “Whoa there, princess. We wouldn’t want any more of the royal blood to be spilled, now would we?”

“Shut up, I’m not your princess, alright? I’m nobody’s princess, and I’m not even a princess. Just let me go and we can both be on our way in separate paths as enemies, okay? I just want to go home,” I groaned and let my arms go limp at my sides.

I was exhausted and even though I put up a solid fight in my first escape, I knew that I needed to gain more energy if I was going to try anything like that again and succeed.

Let’s just say that next time Asshole Noel tries to stop me from leaving, he is getting a hit straight to the family jewels and I will be laughing the moment his knees hit the ground.

Noel broke out into a slight jog while carrying me with little to no effort and before I knew it, we were protected from the bitter wind of the outside.

As soon as we stepped back into the small cabin, I noticed Dean coming out of the darkness and slamming the wooden door shut behind us. He double locked it, yanked on the handle a few times to see if it functioned and then turned back to face Noel and I.

“There. The storm won’t get us now,” Dean joked while sending me a wink as he left to another room in the cabin.

I rolled my eyes. More like ‘the girl won’t try and escape again if we dead bolt the door’.

As soon as Dean left the room, his positive and happy demeanor left with him, leaving me in an awkward silence with Asshole Noel. It was as if the air had dropped a solid 15 degrees from the moment Dean went through the exit door frame.

Noel cleared his throat and grunted. “I’ll take you downstairs.”

“Like I have anywhere else to go, idiot,” I grumbled while crossing my arms.

My attitude earned me a glare from ‘Mr. Uptight’, but other than that, he said nothing about my comment.

Noel continued to carry me bridal style throughout the cabin until we came to another old wooden door (figures, in a creepy scary, wooden cabin).

Surprisingly, he opened the door with ease as he shifted my weight from one arm to the other to get his hands free. Once the door was open, Noel flicked a switch on the side wall with the edge of his shoulder, turning on a single light bulb. The tiny bloom of light was just enough to make me blink to adjust my eyes, but after a few moments of recovery, I was able to see where we were going.
