"This hike was so long. Goddamn. 13 miles. Seriously, I'm going to die. Where even are we? Kelly?" Michael plopped into the nearest stump at the edge of a forest, reaching for kindling to make a fire.
"Um. Someplace remote? I really don't know love. I swore my uncles cabin was up here," she said with an uncertain voice.
"Yeah.. I see that. Babe," Michael pointed into the woods to their left." Could you grab some wood? Just small stuff we can get going. Try and find something dry."
Kelly nodded and headed into the woods. She was carelessly tromping through brush and stepped on a wasp nest. She screamed and ran forward trying to avoid the stings. By the time she felt safe, she turned around and noticed she was hopelessly lost. Michael was nowhere in sight. Shit. She said under her breath. This wasn't good.
Something moved in her peripheral vision. Human figure. Michael? She turned towards the figure. It was far away blurred from creeping fog. "Michael..?" No answer.
She drifted toward the figure. However it disappeared behind the trees. Kelly panicked and ran to where she last saw it, frantically look about. "Michael?!" She bleated. Walking backwards, she felt herself touch something fleshy. "Michael!" Relieved she turned around. Only to find herself in pure terror.
A deceased man, or woman.. Stood before her, slumped to side, flesh rotting. Kelly turned and ran at the grunting noises the abomination made. "MICHAEL!!" She screamed, hoping for an answer.
Stumbling into a field which seemed familiar, she saw Michael sitting where she had left him. He was looking around frantically before he spotted Kelly. " Baby? Are you okay? What's wrong?" He greeted her with open comforting arms. Noticing the sting marks on her legs, he stroked her hair and apologized.
Kelly shook her head vigorously. " No.. No, we have to go now."
