An overcast day, the clouds breaking up just enough for a few rays of sunlight the brake through onto the water. Not calm but not violent, the ocean crashes down with each wave onto the shoreline. You stand there, staring out into nothing, your toes in the warm, soft sand. In the distance you can only see water, a calming, empty- but- comforting horizon. The roar of the ocean, the bird calling out, the wind in your hair. The smell of salt and seaweed reaches you, engulfing you into he reality that you are alone here. And although you are alone, you are comfortable and relaxed. Stepping forward, the water reaches your feet. Freezing cold, you snap back into the world, trance momentarily broken before the waves just become a metaphor again. Such peace flows through you. Your mind is at ease.
