Gemstone hearts, diamond tears.

We're aren't as strong as we used to be.
I've grown too accustomed, too soft
You've grown too hard, too cold.
Each foul word spat from your mouth is a storm, intended to crush me.
And they do.
But I'd never say so.
I love you so much that I happily let you tear me down
Over,
And over,
And over again.
There's nothing I could do to you,
I won't fight back.
My heart is too soft, no longer as hard as a diamond.
My tears are hidden,
but those,
Those are what are the hardest.
They mean something.
But not to you.
No, you would never know how it is.
I hide my diamond tears from you,
Always trying to protect my gemstone heart.
