Simple request.
Sleep.
That's all I ask for.
Yet you're always there,
Nagging me,
Annoying me.
" Are you sure you don't want to consider the possibilities that anything and everything could go wrong?"
Well, truth is,
I know it won't.
You're inconsiderate of my health.
You won't let me eat,
You won't let me sleep,
And frankly- I'm exhausted.
I'm drowning in your whispers,
Every time I close my eyes.
You're really such a useless bother,
Feeding off of me.
I wouldn't wish you to follow anyone,
But you do.
I'm not alone.
And I'm still here with you,
We're locked together it seems.
So maybe,
Could you tape your mouth shut..
And maybe let me sleep?
Dear Anxiety,
I need some sleep.
