"You make me so happy."
She said it so often to him that she started to realize something.
Maybe he didn't.
Did she mean it? Or was she saying it simply so she'd believe herself?
He was all she had, so she had to make it work.
Truth is, he was abusive. Not physically.
Physically he was kind, and wanted to pleasure her.
It was mentally.
There's a few loves comparable to this one, some I'm sure you know of. She loved him, or so she thought she did. So much so that she couldn't see that he didn't really love her. He played with her feelings and never said he was sorry for it. She'd forgive him anyways.
And so she loved with this, always telling him, "you make me so happy." The more she said it, the more she believed herself. One day though, she decided 'maybe I shouldn't lie to myself'.
