I got out of my silver Bugatti Veyron and gave the keys to the valet manager. I adjusted my VVS cuff links and buttoned my suit jacket as I walked towards my building.

The guard held the door open for me, "Thanks, Charles," I said giving him a head nod.

"Have a good day, Mr. Carter," he spoke returning the gesture.

"Hold the door!" I called jogging towards the elevator.

"Which floor?" A young woman asked looking up at me.

"The top floor," I said leaning back on the metal wall. "You work here? I've never seen you before," I said.

"Yes. Well, I'm new actually," she said nervously.

"Oh is that so.. What position will you be working in?" I asked her.

"I am the assistant to a..." She looked down at her phone before speaking, "Tyran?" She questioned.

"Oh, yes. He is the president of the management division," I told her.

A free a few seconds the elevator came to a halt, "This is my stop. Well it was nice meeting you Mr.-" I cut her off.

"Carter. You too, Ms.?" I asked.

"Oh I'm Sarah," she giggled grabbing her portfolio before exiting the elevator.

I watched on as she walked away, too flat assed for me. Too clumsy too. I shook my head and clicked the button for the elevator doors to close.

I waited as the elevator reached the 30th floor. I stepped off the elevator and all eyes were on me.

"Good morning, Mr Carter," the chick that delivers my coffee said.

"Good morning," I spoke nodding as I walked towards my office. I unlocked the door and put down my briefcase.

I walked over to my desk and sat on my black leather chair. I turned on my Mac Book Pro and logged into my account.

I opened the Manila folder on my desk and began looking over the contracts pending to sign. I signed two of them since the third one didn't sit right with me.

There is no way I'm giving a new artist 5,000 dollars as an advance on a debut album. What if it sucks and nobody buys it? No way I'm losing my money.
