It's an undeniable fact that Castiel is happy Dean is standing right beside him in the club, but almost immediately he senses a difference. The other man isn't enjoying himself, he's pulling at the sleeve of his shirt, surveying the crowd like someone is going to jump out at them. What happened to him? "Dean?" Dean looked at him, there was a tightness in his eyes that told him he was uncomfortable. "We don't have to stay here, we can go home?' Dean took a swig of his whiskey and nodded, pushing off the bar. "Sounds good." He shouted over the music. ~*~
When they got back to Castiel's dorm, he just stared at Dean. Mesmerized by him, worried, shocked at how different he was but still seemed the same. It was very discerning, so he decided to drop it. Prying is never good, he learned that lesson quickly before Dean left. "Cassy?" Castiel smiled at him, a darkness seemed to retreat from Dean's eyes and it made him feel less worried. Maybe he was imagining things. "Yes?" He said sweetly, crawling into Dean's lap on the bed. "Do you want to do anything or can we um just stay in bed?" Dean chuckled, combing the hair on his chin a little with his fingers. "It's been awhile since I've slept good.." Castiel nodded, he understood why, he didn't sleep well without Dean either. "Okay," He kissed Dean, "I'm just happy you're here.'
When Dean fell asleep, snoring, half naked and taking up half the bed, Castiel got up and went over to Kevin's. He knocked on the door, chewing on a purple finger nail. He rocked a little on the balls of his feet, Castiel's anxiety was peeking pretty bad right now. Kevin opened the door and frowned. "Why aren't you with Dean?" Castiel walked pass him and shut the door, sat on the corner of Kevin's bed. "He's asleep, has been for the pass two hours. I need to talk to you about something." Kevin nodded, folded his arms and sat on his desk, kicking his feet back n forth. "Okay, what's up?" Castiel sighed, rubbed his arms and played with the blanket on Kevin's bed. "He seems different, I don't know, like he's on edge." Kevin chuckled a bit, then realized he shouldn't have. "I'm sorry, Cassy it's normal. The man just spent 6 months in a tin can under water. It's probably going to take time to adjust to things." Castiel nodded, so he was imagining things, still always looking for the bad, for another shoe to drop. There was a knock on Kevin's door and they looked at each other, he obviously wasn't expecting another guest at this time of night. Kevin got up and opened the door, a frazzled Dean came rushing into the room. "What are you doing?" What's going on? Dean seemed... scared? "I-I'm just talking to my friend." "You didn't tell me you were leaving. I woke up and you were gone." "Y-you were asleep, I didn't think it mattered." Dean grabbed Castiel's arm and made him stand up, basically dragging him out of Kevin's dorm. Kevin mouthed the words "what the fuck?" And Castiel shrugged, mouthing back, "I told you."

When they got back in Castiel's dorm across the hall, Dean let go of his arm. He apologized, his nerves still clawing at him. "I-I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that." He woke up and Castiel was gone, he just panicked. Dean barely felt himself get out of the bed and go across to Kevin's dorm. Castiel looked nervous, watched him warily. "Dean are you okay?" Dean chuckled, pulled Castiel against him and kissed him. "I just need time to... adjust? I've been surrounded by asshats and steel for 6 months. I'm sorry Cassy, I didn't mean to scare you."
