Five months have passed since the last incident. Things haven't exactly been smooth sailing but they've gotten better. Castiel sat in his social economics class, trying to write his notes as fast as his professor talked. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket and slipped it out under his desk to check who messaged him. It was from Dean. "I got em." Castiel beamed ear to ear and shoved his notebook into his satchel before quietly excusing himself from the classroom. Once the door softly clicked shut behind him Castiel took off running towards the parking lot in search of Dean's car. He quickly spotted the Impala that Sam gave Dean because he got himself a more environment friendly vehicle. Castiel ran up to the purring muscle car and slid into the passenger seat, then jumped into Dean's lap. "Where are they? Let me see! Let me see!" Dean chuckled, those fanfic green eyes sparkling with happiness. He held out his hand to Castiel, revealing a set of keys. "Oh my god!" Castiel kissed Dean, those cupid bow lips soft as ever and his mouth tasting of whiskey. "I love you so fucking much." Dean's freckles stood out amongst his flushed cheeks, no doubt as ecstatic as Castiel. "You wanna go see it?" Castiel slid off Dean's lap and buckled himself in. "What are you waiting for Navy boy?" Dean put the car in reverse and pulled out of the parking lot, the engine roaring to life when he accelerated. Castiel was shaking, his heart beating out of his chest, adrenaline pumping, but this time it wasn't out of fear or anxiety. He was the happiest he had been in his entire life and it was all because of the amazing man beside him. They quickly got to the apartment complex and Castiel felt like he couldn't contain the overwhelming giddiness that was bubbling in his chest. Dean got out first and Castiel breathed slowly, trying to calm his nerves. This is really happening. This is really happening for him. Dean paused at the front of the car and shot a concerned glance at Castiel and walked over to the passenger side. Castiel opened the car door, noting the tremor in his hands. "Are you okay baby?" Castiel nodded afraid to speak right away. "Let's go inside then."
Castiel got out of the car, his feet felt a bit unsteady from the rushing adrenaline. Dean laughed and grabbed Castiel's hand, it was with a much softer grip than what he used to have and it was taking time to get used to. Castiel laced his fingers with Dean's and let the other man pull him to the apartment he hadn't yet seen. Castiel felt like he was floating, his fingertips numb like he wasn't getting enough oxygen and Dean paused in front of the door before unlocking it. "Cassy?" Castiel met those beautiful eyes with his and saw anticipation, fear and happiness wrapped all into one, it was so intense. "Hm?" "I really hope you like this.." Castiel smiled warmly and pulled Dean against him. "I already do and I haven't even seen it." Dean nodded but Castiel could still see the fear of rejection in those gems. "Don't worry baby." Dean exhaled, "Okay." He unlocked the door and Castiel finally saw the apartment they were going to be sharing. The floor plan was spacious, plenty of room for his desk and bookshelves in the living room. He ran to the kitchen and felt...domestic, like he could finally cook Dean the meal he deserves. The counter tops a false marble, they were beautiful. Dean watched him carefully as he went from one room to the next. He saved the master bedroom for last and tears welled in his eyes. This is their room, their home, the space they will share for as long as deemed possible. Castiel turned around and hugged Dean tightly, clinging to the cold leather jacket. "I love it baby." Dean smiled and quickly wiped away his own tears before replying. "That's great news, I can't really ask for a refund." Castiel laughed through his tears and kissed Dean. "You're such a smartass."
They spent the next few days bringing over the few belongings they owned and once everything was over they realized how little they had. Dean chuckled and leaned against the kitchen counter, folding his arms across his chest. "I guess I really need to buy some furniture." Castiel was putting away cans in the cabinets and Dean teared up a little but wiped them away before the other man noticed. Dean never thought he would get this life. That he would have this normal, happy apple pie life involving someone moving around and humming in a kitchen that's theirs. It just didn't seem feasible it would happen after everything he's done. Dean picked Castiel up unexpectedly and the smaller man yelped in surprise. "Dean! I'm trying to put away the food." Castiel kicked his legs and Dean easily held him trapped in his arms. "I just wanna hold you." Castiel relaxed in his grip and turned around to face Dean. "Something bothering you?" He shook his head and kissed the smaller man. "Not at all. I just wanted to feel ya." Castiel kissed him back and smiled against his lips. "Ya know..I noticed the apartment next to us is vacant and there's only one floor." Dean blinked confused eyes at Castiel. Not really catching on to what Castiel was trying to hint him. "Okay?" Castiel laughed and wiggled his eyebrows at Dean. "We can be as loud as we want." The realization quickly dawned on him and he formed a silent "oh" with his lips. "I didn't even think about that." Castiel slapped his chest. "How dare you not think about that." Dean laughed and released Castiel, letting the other man continue to unpack. "When you're done ya wanna get nasty?" Castiel bent over in front of him and shook his ass before crouching down. "I would love to, but I really need something to eat first. I'm starving." Dean pursed his lips. "Take out?" "Pizza?" "What is it with you and pizza?" Dean chuckled and pulled out his phone to order the pizza and once he was done put it on the kitchen counter. "I love you, sir." Castiel giggled and replied. "I know Navy boy."
When the pizza got there Castiel took one of the empty boxes and flipped it upside down on the kitchen floor. "What are you doing?" Dean asked and opened the pizza box to grab a slice. "It's kinda a tradition I have whenever I move to a new place. I use an empty box as a table and sit on the kitchen floor to eat on the first night there. Usually it's like umm canned tomato soup or something else equally unfilling but we got pizza tonight." Castiel grabbed two slices and sat down on the kitchen floor, patting the cold tiles beside him for Dean to sit as well. The bigger man sighed and sat down beside him, crossing his bowed legs. "You're gonna help me get back up." Castiel laughed with a mouth full of pizza and then sighed half heartedly when he noticed he had nothing to drink. Castiel crawled over to the fridge and pulled out some soda and crawled back over to Dean. "That is the laziest thing I have ever seen you do." Castiel laughed after taking a swig of the soda. "You didn't see what I did when I supposedly "cleaned" my room when we came back from the beach." "I don't even wanna know." Castiel giggled and handed the soda to Dean. "Everything went under the bed." Dean feigned shock and gasped. "Castiel, how dare you." "Yea, yea like you're any better." Dean scoffed and took the final bite of his pizza slice. "Have you seen my car? Spotless." "Yea you also wore the same dirty clothes for four days." Castiel arched an eyebrow at him and Dean sighed in defeat. "That was out of... necessity?" Castiel threw his head back and laughed. "Right." He stood up before continuing. "Do you want more?"Castiel finished eating before Dean and retreated to the bedroom to put away some of their clothes. "You said you'd help me up." Dean shouted from the kitchen floor. Castiel giggled and ignored him, hanging the clothes up in the closet. It was quiet for a few minutes and Castiel wondered if Dean just kept eating instead of trying to get up. Castiel felt warm inside, complete, as if nothing could permeate this happiness that they finally had together. He looked at his hands, hands that were once covered in dirt and grime from being homeless. Nothing could ever make him happier than what he is now. Out of nowhere Dean tackled him to the bed, knocking the air out of his chest. He looked into those bright green eyes and laughed loudly. "What in the hell are you doing?" Dean kissed his neck, nibbling on the skin of his collar bone. He rucked up Castiel's shirt and bit his nipple. "Ow." Castiel giggled and pushed Dean's face away. "You said we could get nasty after we eat." "Y-yes I di-" Dean quickly flipped him over and Castiel gasped in shock. "Well I have every intention in breaking in this new bedroom." Castiel looked back at Dean from on his stomach and smiled mischievously. "Okay, okay we can do that." He rolled over and took his shirt off and quickly unbuttoned and pulled his pants down. "Come here, Daddy." He said laying on the bed and spreading his legs. Dean did a mock growl and slotted between those thick thighs. "I'm not going to go easy on you." Castiel nodded with anticipation, parting his lips for a kiss that he pulled Dean into. "That's fine by me."
