"Alright, Miss Minatozaki, just sign here to let me know that you agree to all the rules, and you will be good to go," Mrs. Park said to me. I took the pen and quickly scribbled my signature on the contract. "Congratulations, Miss Minatozaki, You are officially a student at JYP Academy."I smiled. "Thank you, Mrs. Park. I swear while I'm here, I will be on my very best behavior."
Mrs. Park gave me a serious look in return. "Well, I would hope so, considering if you break this contract," she paused and held up the contract I had just signed. "You will be expelled from the school."
My mother cut in. "Oh, there's no need to worry about that Mrs. Park. Sana won't dare break that contract." She turned to me. "Right, Sana?"
I nodded. "Of course."
Mrs. Park smiled. "Well, that's wonderful. Now Miss Minatozaki, I will be right back with your uniforms." She rose from her chair and exited the office.
My mother looked at me. "Sana, don't screw this up, okay. I meant what I said. If you get kicked out of another school, I'm going to send you to live with your aunt."
I sighed. "Relax Mom. I'll be good this time, I swear. I love aunt, but that woman drives me crazy."
My mother laughed. "You're not alone kid, You are not alone."
Just then, Mrs. Park reentered the office. "Here are your uniforms, Miss Minatozaki, You have been given enough to last the entire week. You are allowed to spice the uniform up in whatever manner you please, as long as it is school appropriate. However, these are the shoes that you are required to wear. Failure to do so will lead to detention. Am I understood?"
"Yes, Mrs. Park." I said with a nod.
"Good," she said as she handed me the bag with my new uniform clothes and shoes. "You may leave now. I'm looking forward to seeing you here on Monday."
My mother and I both stood. "Thank you so much, Mrs. Park. I look forward to being here," I said with a false smile. In reality, I didn't want to go to a snobby private school. Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice. After I had been expelled from my last school, no other public school would take me. My mother had no other choice but to enroll me at JYP. Even then, the only way Mrs. Park allowed me to attend the Academy was if I signed a contract. What was in the contract? Oh, not much, just an incredibly detailed list of all the pranks and things I'd pulled at my old school that wouldn't be tolerated at JYP Academy.
As my mother and I took our leave from the front office, I noticed a girl walking down the hallway. She seemed familiar to me, though I couldn't figure out why. When she saw me looking at her, she smiled and waved at me. I awkwardly waved back before running to catch up with my mother. "Well that was weird," I muttered to my mom when I caught up with her.
"What was weird, Zaki?" she asked, calling me the shortened version of my surname, Minatozaki.
"I saw a girl walking down the hallway. When she noticed me, she smiled and waved at me. It was strange," I told her.
Mom shrugged. "That's not strange, Zaki. She was just saying hi. Who knows, maybe she wants to be your friend. Or even better, maybe she thinks you're pretty," she said as we climbed into her car.
"Yeah Mom, that makes sense. She thinks I'm pretty and wants to be my girlfriend," I retorted sarcastically. "Mom, if you haven't noticed, I'm not pretty like you and Dahyun."
It was true, my mother was very pretty. With her tan skin, dark hair, large dark eyes, and a bright smile, she was gorgeous. Not to mention, she was blessed with curves that many men found attractive. Dahyun, my sister was also gorgeous. She was almost an exact replica of our mother, but she had fair skin instead of dark skin and lacked in the generous curves our mother had. She also had somewhat a thin line like eyes that I barely see. I on the other hand, well I lucked out on the looks department. I just had the curves, but I often hid them with baggy shirts and jeans.
