On Saturday, I spent the day prepping for the dance. My mother and sister insisted that I had to look my best. They did my nails, my hair, and they even made me wear makeup. The worst thing in, my opinion, is that my sister wanted me to wear the sexiest underwear I owned because she was hopeful that something would happen afterwards. I was extremely disgusted by this, but even my mother agreed that I should wear them, so I didn't have much choice.
After all the prepping was done, it was almost time for Mark to come get me. I quickly put on my dress and shoes, and then looked at myself in the mirror. "I feel so weird," I admitted.
"Well, you look great," Dahyun told me. "Mark's going to have to try hard to keep things PG."
I chuckled. "Thanks Hyunnie."
"He better keep his hands to himself," my mother said. "At least until after the dance."
"Mom!" I whined. "That's so inappropriate. Nothing's going to happen."
"You don't know that," she said, just as the doorbell rang.
We all went downstairs, and I opened the front door. I smiled at my boyfriend. "Hi."
He looked me up and down. "Damn, you should wear a dress more often. You look like a million bucks, babe."
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, shut up. Let's just go."
He took my hand and led me to his car, opening my door for me. I climbed in, and he shut my door before quickly going over to his side and climbing in.
"Bye! Have fun!" my mother called from the front door.
Beside her, my younger sister yelled, "Use protection!"
Mark gave me a curious look. "Use protection?"
I rolled my eyes. "Ignore her. She's delusional."
He nodded. "Alright then. To the dance we go."
As soon as we arrived at the dance, I was tackled into a hug. I smiled when I realized it was Chaeyoung. "Chaeng!"
She beamed up at me. "Unnie! I didn't know you were coming! Isn't this great? It's so pretty, right?"
I laughed at her giddiness. "Yeah, it is. Who're you here with?"
"Mina unnie," she answered, her smile even bigger than it was before. "She's so sweet. She let me stand on her feet when we were dancing. I felt so adorable!"
I laughed and gently pinched her cheeks. I knew MiChaeng could happen! "Sweetie, you are adorable. Now go back to Mina. I love you, but she looks lonely."
She looked over her shoulder at Mina. "Oh, she does. I should get back to her. Save me a dance?" She stood on her toes and kissed my cheek. "Later love!"
I couldn't help but laugh. That girl was so weird.
Mark spun me away from him and then back. He smiled and gave me a kiss. "I love you, you know that?"
I returned the smile. "I love you, too." I was such a liar.
He smiled again, and we finished out the song before he let go of me. "I'm gonna get some fresh air," he said. "You wanna come with?"
I shook my head. "I'm gonna go dance with Chaeyoung."
He nodded and made his way out.
Almost immediately afterwards, someone grabbed my hand and spun me around. I smiled at Junior. "Hey Junior!"
He grinned at me. "You think he'll mind if I dance with you?"
I shook my head. "Probably not. Just don't put your hands where they shouldn't be, and we'll be fine."
