When Tzuyu and I reached my front door, we both stood there awkwardly, not really knowing what to do or say. After several minutes of the uncomfortable silence, I quickly wrapped my arms around her and squeezed a little. "Thank you," I said.

She chuckled lightly as she hugged me back. "What for, Beautiful?"

I shrugged. "Forcing me to be social by ditching me at the party. Letting me stay over last night. Introducing me to Chaeyoung. She's kind of annoying and ridiculously cheerful, but I'm pretty sure that you let me meet her so she'd rub off on me."

"Anything else?" She asked, still holding onto me.

I shrugged again. "Just..." I trailed off, trying to think of what I was going to say. "Just being my friend. I've never had many of those, and the few that I had sort of drifted away from me when we started middle school. It's nice to have friends again."

She squeezed me a little. "It's nice to be a friend."

I laughed. "I'm sure you've been a friend to a lot of people in your life."

She finally let go of me and seated herself on my porch step. "I have," she said as I joined her. Her arm went around my shoulders, and she pulled me into her side. "I just like being your friend more than I like being friends with anybody else."

"And why is that?" I asked. It seemed strange that She liked being my friend more than she like being anybody else's.

She shrugged. "Probably because I've wanted to get to know you ever since the first time I caught you looking through my window. You're literally the only person I know who is dumb enough to look through a girl's window because she's got nice abs."

I groaned and buried my face in my hands. "You suck! Why didn't you tell me it was you?"

She laughed. "It was just too funny. You just kept going on and on and on about how my abs are worthy of being licked—"

"I did not go on and on and on!" I exclaimed.

I felt more and more embarrassed each second. Tzuyu just kept laughing at me. Oh, I was going to kill that alien! Who was she to just laugh at me? Some best friend she was. Laughing at me like that. The asshole. I could've slaughtered her in that moment, and I would've if the front door hadn't opened.

"Guys, I found her!" my sister yelled into the house. She smirked. "You're in trouble. Both of you."

"Honestly Sana, you could've at least called!" Uncle Jongin yelled at me. "What the hell made you think it was okay to be gone for so long without letting us know where you were?"

I looked down at the floor shamefully. "I'm—"

"Mr. Kim," Tzuyu interrupted me, "it was all my fault. I was the one who insisted she go to the party. I was the one who didn't take her home at a decent time, even after she repeatedly told me that she was ready to leave. It's my fault that she didn't get here until now because I'm the one who told her to stay at my house last night. Everything was because of me, so please don't punish her for what I did."

I gaped at her, completely shocked that she put the blame on herself. She hadn't done anything, yet she was going to take the blame so I wouldn't get in trouble. "Tzuy—"

Once again, my best friend interrupted. "Honestly Mr. Kim, I'm to blame, so please, don't punish Sana for my irresponsibility."

Uncle Kai scowled. "Tzuyu, are you telling the truth?"

My friend nodded. "Yes sir."

"Well," Uncle Kai started, "in that case, Sana, you're not grounded. This time. If you do this again—"
