Victoria and Tzuyu's father came into the dining room ten minutes after everyone else was already seated. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she apologized. "Tzuyu, dinner looks delicious.""Thank you," Tzuyu said with a smirk on her face. "I can guarantee that it will taste delicious as well. It'll definitely be better than your failure dinner from Sunday."
Victoria glared at Tzuyu. "Tzuyu, don't make me hit you in front of Sana's family."
She sighed. "Alright, I'll behave."
Victoria smiled as she took her seat at the head of the table. Clearly, she was in control of the Chou family. "Thank you, Tzuyu. Jackson, please sit on a chair, not on Sana's lap." Jackson immediately climbed down and went around the table to sit between his siblings. "Alright, let's eat."
As soon as Minhyuk, Tzuyu's older brother, took a bite of the food Tzuyu had made for dinner, he immediately said, "Tzuyu, your cooking is shit."
"It's better than yours," Tzuyu immediately shot back. "You don't even know how to cook, so you can't really judge my cooking."
Minhyuk shrugged. "Why learn how to cook when I could get a chef to do it for me? I can hire that professional chef across the street using Dad's useless fortune used for spoiling mom and his little useless son."
"Mommy?" Jackson spoke up. "Do I have to sit between them?"
"I'll switch with you," I offered. "I don't want you to sit there if they're going to argue over the top of your head." Jackson jumped up instantly and ran over to my side of the table.
Victoria warned, "They'll do the same to you. They won't stop just because a girl is sitting between them."
I shrugged as I grabbed my plate and Jackson's, quickly switching them. "That's fine. I can easily punch both of them if they start to annoy me." I moved to the other side of the table and sat between the bickering siblings.
Minhyuk glared at me. "And I'll hit you back," he threatened.
"You hit her, and I'll slaughter you," Tzuyu spat, fire in her eyes.
Minhyuk glanced at his sister before continuing to eat his dinner. "Yeah, right."
"You think I won't?" Tzuyu inquired.
Her brother shrugged. "I highly doubt that you'll kill me over some girl. I'm your brother. She," —he paused to gesture at me with his fork— "is a dumb person, who in the end, won't even matter."
I saw that Tzuyu was going to get up, and I grabbed her upper arm and dug my nails into her skin. "Sit down," I told her. Turning to look at his dick of an older brother, I said, "If you ever call me a dumb person again, I'll rip out your intestines."
Minhyuk grinned. "Kitty's got claws. Meow."
I rolled my eyes. "Tzuyu, I really hate your brother."
"So do I," Tzuyu grumbled. "Could you let go of my arm now? I think you're drawing blood."
I quickly released her arm. "Sorry," I apologized. "Did I hurt you?"
She shook her head. "Only a little. Don't worry about it. Eat your dinner. Your food's getting cold."
After that, the rest of the meal went on without incident. Tzuyu and Minhyuk didn't speak to one another anymore, so there weren't any more arguments. To fill the silence that came, Victoria and my mother, Krystal started planning mine and Tzuyu's wedding. Crazy? Yeah, I know. They insisted that Tzuyu and I would give them beautiful grandchildren (I KNOW IT'S WEIRD AND IMPOSSIBLE BUT BEAR WITH IT!) ,and therefore, we had to be together.
