Chapter 4

I ran into my studio and did a quick setup. Once I sat down and caught my breath, I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 5:25 is the time that stared back at me. I laughed like a lunatic. I had gotten there and set up with five minutes to spare. Good job Sana. You're getting faster. As soon as the clock read 5:30, I turned on my mic.

Hey, it's Cupid, the teen love expert. Are you having problems in your relationship? Just tell me what's wrong, and I'll give you advice on how to fix the situation. If you're listening, just call in and tell me what the problem is.

"Um, Cupid, I need some advice on what to do about my boyfriend."

Alright, what's the matter?

"Well, my boyfriend and I have been together for a few months now, and at first everything was great, but lately it seems like we're drifting apart."

What do you mean 'drifting apart'?

"He doesn't come over as much as he used to. We used to spend every moment we could together, and now it's like he doesn't even want to be around me. What should I do?"

Okay, I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'm probably right. If he's ignoring you, he may not be interested anymore. Even worse he may be cheating on you. Now don't start crying and saying that I'm a liar, just hear me out. Don't go screaming at him or anything, just ask him if he's still interested. If he doesn't respond, he's a cheating, lying jerk, and you should dump him immediately. If he does say something and he says that he still loves you, but he's lying, the same thing applies. If he says he still loves you and he's being honest, keep him. But make sure he's the right guy for you before your relationship goes any farther.

"But I can't tell when he's lying to me."

Sweetie, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but if you can't tell when your own boyfriend is lying, you should probably break up with him.

"Why?"

You don't know when he's telling the truth or not. For all you know everything he's ever said could be a lie. You can't trust him, so why be with him?

"Because I love him."

I understand that you love him, but relationships are built on trust. If you aren't able to trust him you shouldn't be with him!

"But he's the love of my life! I can't just give up on him!"

If he's not trust worthy you can give up on him!

"But I don't want to give up on him! I love him too much!"

Then don't give up on him!

"First you said to break up with him! Now you're saying don't break up with him! What should I do?"

Listen to your heart.

"What?"

Listen to what your heart tells you to do. If your heart tells you to leave him, then leave him. If it tells you to stay with him and try to work out your issues, then stay with him and work it out.

"Oh. Well if you say so. Thanks cupid! You always know what to say."

As soon as she hung up, I silently thanked whatever deity was up there. I loved my job, but sometimes listening to people whine and complain was a pain in the ass.

So, we've still got time. If anybody wants to call in, I'm here.

"Hey Cupid, I have a problem."

What's up?

"Well, I kinda like this person..."
