On Friday, during lunch, Tzuyu and I were joined by Chaeyoung. She was talking animatedly—something that, I was beginning to realize, occurred often—about her recent experience with getting her second piercing. She had been terrified out of her mind, and as a result, she was crying before she was even in the chair.

As she went on and on,Tzuyu gave Chaeyoung her undivided attention—something I found unnecessary considering she'd been there with her. I, on the other hand, gave my undivided attention to the music that was blasting in my ears. I couldn't have cared less about her getting a piercing.

I didn't realize she'd asked me a question until Tzuyu nudged me. I took out one of my earbuds and stared at the two them. "What?"

Chaeyoung smiled. "I asked if you had any piercings."

"Oh, sorry," I apologized, though I didn't mean it. "I wasn't listening."

"Clearly," Tzuyu muttered.

I glared at her for a brief moment before looking back at the perky brunette. "To answer your question, nope."

They both looked at me in astonishment. "You're kidding!" Chaeyoung exclaimed. "You never had any?!"

I shook my head. "I'm not kidding. What's the point of having that useless piece of shit in your body anyways?"

Tzuyu frowned. "Well damn."

Chaeyoung, still amazed at my amount of piercings which was a complete zero, decided to ask, "What the hell? You're like sixteen. What kind of parent lets their daughter get no piercings?"

I glowered at her. "Why the hell do I need some shitty black metals in my body?! I Don't want to have any Piercings and that's my decision. Do you have a problem with that, bitch?"

(o o p s  mad sana, sorry for the curses :<)

She looked taken aback by my sudden burst of anger. "I—I—I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to offend you!" she abruptly burst into tears and took off running.

Tzuyu glared at me. "You just scared her to tears. Fan-fucking-tastic," She spat sarcastically. She moved to follow her, but I was already running in the direction she'd gone.

I found her in a restroom, bawling her eyes out. I sighed as I went over and sat beside her on the floor. I awkwardly put my arm around her, patting her shoulder as I did so. "Hey, don't cry, okay? I didn't mean to upset you."

She sniffled. "It's my fault, really. It was rude of me to ask that question." She looked towards me, her eyes shining with tears. "Could you ever forgive me?"

I sighed dramatically, simply to humor her. "Fine, I'll forgive you, so long as you promise to stop with the water works."

She squealed and bear hugged me for the umpteenth time in the week I'd known her. Once she released me, she jumped up, skipped over to the mirror, and pulled her makeup kit out of her purse. As she reapplied her makeup, she asked, "So are you going to Mark Tuan's party tonight?"

I frowned. "I wasn't aware of a party."

"Really? Well, either way, you should come. I'm going, and I know for a fact that Tzuyu's going to be there," she said.

I raised an eyebrow. "Tzuyu's going? I thought she didn't like Mark?"

Chaeyoung put her makeup kit back into her purse and spun to face me. "She doesn't, but she has to go to make sure it doesn't get too out of hand. Tzuyu missed one party over the summer, and it got so out of hand that the Tuans' house almost burned to the ground."

I gaped at her. "Why the hell do his parents let him have parties if they can get like that?"

The brunette shrugged. "Not sure. But seriously, you should come. And bring friends. Mark wants as many people as possible to show up."
