The next few weeks went by in a blur, and soon we were on break for Thanksgiving. Tzuyu and I spent the Saturday before Thanksgiving at the mall because she insisted that I needed to do more than sit around my house and in my tree.

Tzuyu and I walked around the mall window shopping. I refused to let her buy me anything. She insisted that she had no problem with buying me something, especially since she had over three hundred dollars to waste, but I was an independent young woman. I didn't need a woman to spend her money on me.

After a few hours, we still hadn't purchased a single item. Tzuyu grew fed up with my insistence that she couldn't buy my anything and forced me to the food court, so she could at least buy me lunch. We sat there, eating delicious, greasy burgers and fries and drinking fattening milkshakes.

"Hey, Sana unnie?" Tzuyu said.

I looked up from my food. "Yeah?"

She gave me a small smile. "Can I ask you something?"

I swallowed my mouthful of fattening goodness. "You just did, but I'll allow another question."

She rolled her eyes. "This is gonna sound weird, but do you want to go out with me?"

I frowned. Well...this just got weird... "Um...why?"

She shrugged. "Just answer the question, Beautiful."

Still frowning, I inquired, "Why do you want to go out with me?"

She sighed. "Please just answer the question, Beautiful."

"Okay, fine. Tzuyu, I like you, but not in that way. That being said, no I will not go out with you."

Suddenly, as if She hadn't just been rejected, she grinned. "I knew it!" she exclaimed as she pulled out her phone, quickly dialing a number. "She said no!" she said into the receiver. "I told you she would say no, and you didn't believe me. In your face, Chae!"

Now it made sense. Chaeyoung had been pestering Tzuyu and I about getting together. She thought that we would make a cute couple. Needless to say, Tzuyu and I disagreed. We worked as friends, and quite frankly, the idea of us ever being anything more scared me. I wouldn't know how to be a decent girlfriend. I'd probably just end up hurting her. Besides, she was my best friend, nothing more, probably less.

She hung up on her and beamed at me. "Sorry about that, I just needed to prove my point to that dwarf."

I chuckled. "Yeah, I get that, now. You could've just told me that's why you were asking."

She gave me a disbelieving look. "No, I couldn't have. You would've said yes just to spite me."

I shrugged. "True. Now, if you excuse me, my bladder needs to be relieved."

She scowled. "Yeah, I didn't need to know that."

I shrugged again. "Oh well, you know now. Be right back." I went to the nearest restroom, handled my business, washed my hands, and went back to our table. I had been gone for five minutes, at the most, and somehow, in that short amount of time, Tzuyu had managed to throw out our trash, and obtain a bag from some clothing store. "What's in the bag?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "A dress for Chae. I saw it earlier, thought she would like it, and then decided to buy it for her."

I nodded. "Cool. Can I see it?"

"Nope," she said, popping the 'p'. "You'll see it eventually, but not right now. Right now, we're going to continue with our window shopping because you refuse to let me buy you anything."
