"Does Zane-Kun have a fear of heights?"

Zane looked up at his girlfriend, who was balancing on the latter he held still. She strung more multicolored lights as she asked the question. He felt his face grow pink as she glanced down at him, a smile dancing on her face.

"Y-No, no I don't. Why?" He thought quickly, hoping his fabrication sounded genuine.

She laughed her cute giggle and nodded. "Sure, Zane-Kun. Kawaii-Chan was just wondering why she was stringing the lights instead of you, since you said you liked decorating so much."

He muttered under his breathe as his blush deepened. The pink-haired Meif'wa looked down at him once more at the sound of his muttering. "What was that?"

"Nothing!" He smiled awkwardly back at her.

She pouted at him. "Why won't you tell Kawaii-Chan?"

"Because it's stupid!" He huffed, looking away.

A mischievous smile grew across her face and Zane looked back up at her. "What are you making that face fo-"

Before he could react, there was a pair of soft lips on his. It took a few seconds for him to recover from his shook, but when he did, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed back, choosing not to question it. Suddenly, there was a loud clang and they jumped apart to see the ladder had fallen without Zane holding it.

"Well," Zane looked back at his girlfriend, "It's a good thing you weren't still on the ladder."

"Do you need some help?"

Zane watched in amusement as Kawaii-Chan restrained herself from ripping up the wrapping paper she was trying to wrap a box with. The wrapping paper was crumbled and sloppily taped. Her face as pink as her hair from her struggle and badly hidden frustration.

Zane wouldn't lie; he thought she looked adorable.

"Kawaii-Chan is good!" She hissed through her teeth, yanking at another piece of tape.

"Kawaii-Chan, let me help you." He stepped closer, trying not to laugh.

She let out a hiss and ripped the paper from the package. Letting out a little scream, she buried her face in her hands. Zane let out a chuckle and leaned down, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"How about we get some hot chocolate, and then try again?" He whispered in her ear.

"Zane-Kun, what are you doing?"

Zane nearly fell off the ladder he stood on at the sound of the pink-haired Meif'wa's voice. He turned to his girlfriend and shoved the plant he held behind his back. Plastering a smile on his face, he wracked his brain for an excuse.

"Um, I was...uh... cleaning." He stuttered. "The ceiling. With my bare hands."

She giggled. "Kawaii-Chan dusted up there yesterday, silly."

"I know, I was just... re-cleaning." He coughed, tugging at his collar with his free hand.

"Zane-Kun, what are you hiding?" She inquired, peering around him.

"Nothing!" He blurted, backing away slowly.

Only to trip and fall on his face.

He let out a groan as Kawaii-Chan rushed over to him. "Zane-Kun!"

"I'm okay." He mumbled as she helped him up. Wincing, he rubbed his face. It was not his greatest moment.

Suddenly, he heard a laugh. Looking up, he saw Kawaii-Chan chuckling and shaking her head. He opened his mouth to ask why she was laughing, but then noticed the hand he had rubbed his face with was the one in which he held the mistletoe he had been trying to put up.

"Um..." He scratched the back of his neck.

Kawaii-Chan gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Nice try."

"Are you in line to see Santa, Miss?"

Kawaii-Chan looked down to see a little boy tugging at her. She smiled at him and stepped back. "Kawaii-Chan's not, sweetheart. Sorry."

"It's okay!" He chirped back, and Kawaii-Chan resisted the urge to let out an "Aw!" at his adorable little face.

"Hey Kawaii-Chan, I think I just saw- whose that?" He looked accusingly at the little boy, who cowered under his gaze.

She stepped in front of the little boy protectively. "He was just getting in line, Zane-Kun." She turned back to the little boy. "Just ignore him."

The little boy gave her a small smile in return, but Zane's glare simply deepened. He crouched down to the boy's level and gave him a forced smile. "You going to see Santa, buddy?"

The boy nodded and Zane grinned maliciously. "Well, guess what? Santa's not real!"

The boy's lip trembled and Kawaii-Chan gasped. She hit her boyfriend in the back of the head, causing him to let out a yelp.

"What was that for?!" He rubbed the back of his head, now sending a glare to Kawaii-Chan.

She glared back at him. "For being mean!"

Zane opened his mouth to retort but the little boy interrupted him.

"Yeah, Mister! That wasn't very nice!"

"Kawaii-Chan didn't know there was such thing as a mall jail," The pink-haired Meif'wa commented, smirking at her jailed boyfriend who was mumbling very colorful words.

Zane rolled his eyes. "Very funny."

"Kawaii-Chan thought it was," Her smug smile stayed glued to her face, "Only thirty more minutes."

"Why can't you just bail me out?" He groaned.

She giggled. "Kawaii-Chan did. If she hadn't, you'd been in there for an hour."

He buried his head in his sweater and let out a loud sigh.

"Now what?" Kawaii-Chan inquired, resting her chin on her hands.

"Now I can't buy you the Christmas gift you wanted." He mumbled.

Kawaii-Chan's eyes widened and she let out an "Aw!" "That's very sweet, Zane-Kun, but I don't want anything."

"You don- Wait. Oh Irene don't you-"

"All Kawaii-Chan wants for Christmas is you."

"Wake up!"

Zane groaned as he was shaken awake quite violently. "Go away!"

"Wake up, Zane-Kun! It's Christmas!"

He opened one eye to see Kawaii-Chan with a huge smile on her face, her excitement eminent. He felt a smile grow on his face as he pushed himself up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Merry Christmas, Kawaii-Chan."

"Merry Christmas, Zane-Kun."
