"Please, Please I'm begging you. Not her, Please. Not my Melody. I'm begging you." Pleaded Mrs. Thorne.

"If not her. Then it must be you." Said the voice laced with murder. "Fine. Just please don't hurt her." She pleaded for the last time.
With a smirk the murderer gladly slit her throat right there without hesitation. He watched the life fade from her eyes as the blood pooled around his feet and with that he left leaving precious Melody asleep.

~The next morning~

"Mum why didn't you wake me? I'm going to be late for school!" Melody screamed loudly while twisting the door knob on her mothers door.
"No. Mummy, Please... I need you. Wake up" The 16 year old said over and over again with shaking her mother to wake up even though she knew by the amount of blood around her mothers lifeless body that she will not wake. "Okay, Okay Mels breathe" she tried to reassure herself while picking up the phone while dialing the number she's never used before. "Hello, 991 whats your emergency?" said the robotic like voice on the other end of the line. "Erm, It's my mum, she's not breathing, there's a lot of blood. Help please. Hurry" Melody begged to the voice on the other end while silent tears were leaking out of her hazel eyes. "Okay darling, Calm down. Whats the address?" "21 evergreen road" Said Melody's shaky voice so quiet it could have been passed for a whisper. "They're on the way, Stay on the line. Everything is going to be alright." The Robotic seeming voice on the other end said reassuringly.

~Later that day~

"Mrs. Thorne?" "Just Melody please" Interrupted Melody. "Melody... Erm I know this is hard but you're only 16 you can't live alone, do you have any other relatives you could stay with?" Said the detective. "My dad passed when I was 2, I never really knew him. I have cousins in Virginia. I think they'll have me." Melody answered absent minded.

~Two days later~

So. I'm all packed and on the plane to my cousins in Mystic Falls Virginia. I mean, not even three whole days after I find my mother in a pool of her own blood and I'm already being forced into starting a new life and a new school. I just hope this one isn't as full as disappointment as the last one. I've visited my cousins before about two years ago, they're really nice and I have a very good memory so no-one is coming to pick me up from the airport I'm just making my own way there which I don't mind... I need time to think. My Auntie and Uncle passed away a few months ago so I don't know who's looking after my cousins.

Before I knew it I was here, on the porch of the oh so familiar house that holds so many childhood memories. "Here goes nothing." I whispered to myself as I knocked on the door with my belongings surrounding me.
