Once I finally got home after enduring a 20 minute silent car drive, I ran up stairs as fast as I possibly could, slipping at the last step. I needed to be quick. Where were my car keys?! I was is such a rush it was ridiculous. Granted mom was right when she said we'd be back by 6 but it took 20 minutes to get there, and I had to pick up Robyn, and I had to find a parking space. Catching a glance of myself in the mirror I decided to change, despite being pressed for time. It was mild outside meaning that I could wear shorts and not freeze. I accompanied the denim shorts with a navy blue tank top that finished above my belly button. I kept my grey sweater but changed my boots for black converse. It wasn't until I was half way down the stairs when I realised how little my dad would think of the outfit. I stopped in my tracks, I had to be tactical about this. Now you may be thinking that I'd do something smart like pop just my head around the door when I said good bye, or even call the landline so he would be distracted and wouldn't see me. But no, of course not. These types of ideas always come to me after I've done the stupid thing, a prime example was crawling across a dirty restaurant floor a few hours ago. Anyway back to my stupid plan, I fished my keys out of my pocket. I was going to make a run for it. "Bye mom, bye dad," I shouted as I ran to the door and then to my car. My heart was pounding as I reversed out of my driveway, only then realising I had left the front door wide open. I was going to get an ear full later.
When I arrived at Robyn's I couldn't contain my laughter. She opened the door wearing a white cropped lace top, black shorts, little sparkly pumps and to finish it off, a baby pink kimono.
"Are you serious?" I asked still giggling.
"What!" She exclaimed.
"Hang on, hang on let me just get a picture for Calum!" I laughed quickly snapping a picture and sending it to Calum before she could object.
"Well are you going to tell me why you're peeing yourself or do you want me to guess?" She said impatiently tapping her foot.
"You do know where we're going right?"
"Yes, a concert,"
"This isn't a one direction concert, this is in a field, outside with tons of mud and tons of people, it's not some easy concert where you enter sit then leave." I explained. She raised her eyebrow still not getting it. "You need to change," I said bluntly.
She let out a huge sigh before turning on her heels and walking up the stairs, I followed closing the door behind me. "And for your information," she threw over her shoulder. "One direction concerts aren't easy, I'd like to see you dive over 2 rows of chairs to get into a fight with 5 girls over head band Harry styles had thrown into the audience," she giggled to herself as she quietly said "stupid bitches though they could take me on," Once we were in her room she slumped onto her bed. "So what do you suggest I wear oh mighty concert one,"
Ignoring her comment I threw open her closet door. "I think maybe a jumper?" I said throwing a thin blue jumper at her. "And black jeans instead of shorts, also change the pumps to converse and for gods sake take off the kimono."
She glared at me. "Why do you get to wear shorts?"
"Because I don't complain about being cold constantly,"
She scowled at me before going to change her clothes. "I want to borrow that outfit by the way, it was really cute," I commented. Her response was to throw her shoe at me.
My phone gently vibrated in my pocket, it was Calum.
Calum:
Is that really what
she's wearing?
Me:
I know! I made her change,
I don't think she's pleased
