Chapter XXV • THE WISH III

"Babe, I'm so nervous..."

"Hey, don't be. You're so beautiful tonight... Promise, they'll going to love you too, like I do..."

I hooked my arms on hers as I get out of her car then I immediately turned to check my dress, "Bea, do my dress fits me?" I asked her while swaying the edge of my white dress.

"Kahit ano namang suot mo bagay sayo eh..." Then she winked her right eye at me. "And you know what Jho? You don't have to be nervous, kasi babe I always got your back naman eh..."

"Nako Beadel ha! Those were just words, baka iwan mo lang ako sa ere..." Then I pinched her nose.

"Di ah. Basta you're so beautiful para i-ignore lang nila..." She stared at me, then kissed me quick on my lips.

"Magnanakaw ka talaga!" Then I rolled my eyes at her.

"Ikaw kaya dyan..." She said na parang nagtatampo pa.

"Bakit naman, Beatriz?" I asked her while my arms were crossed on my chest.

"Kasi you stole my heart and never gave it back to me kaya I can't live without you na..." Ay grabe talaga siya. Siya lang talaga yung nakakapagpakilig sakin ng ganon.

I never felt this feeling in my past lovers. Beatriz was the only person who made me happy after the long time sadness. She was my pain and my cure, my danger and savior, my darkness and my light.

Loving her was my everything, loving her was never be a mistake, never be my danger and never be a waste of my time.

"Because your heart became my life," I paused then I looked at her again. "Maybe others will think that I'm so selfish because I just want you to love me 24x a day, to love me more than I love you, to be with you the whole time, and I don't want to see you with someone else..."

A tear fell from my eye.

"Because, Bea I love you so much and I don't want to loose you one more time..."

She hugged me as she saw my tears freeing themselves.

"I love you too Jho, sorry for judging and for blaming you about what happened to us..." She whispered, still hugging me from my back.

"I love you so much babe..."

The whole house was so silent. My mom and dad were just staring at me and Jho as we get inside, while kuya Loel was just playing Xbox in our living room...

I'm expecting them to welcome us with a smile on their faces, to finally welcome Jho in our family, and to love her like I do. But, as I can see, the situation was the opposite version of my expectation...

"So hey mom, dad, and kuya..." I forced myself to be cheerful even if I have all the reasons to not be.

"Dinner's ready..." Mom said while making her way to our kitchen.

It's cold as ice...

Dad went straight to our dining area without saying anything while kuya Loel stood from the sofa after he paused his game...

"Hi kuy--"

"Let's eat..." He said, then walked straight to the dining like what dad did.

Jho tightened her grasp on my arm because of what my family showed her. She's really nervous now, sweating, and at the same time shaking...

"Hey babe, don't worry I got your back, promise..." I whispered as we made our first step.

We arrived inside the dining area. Mom, Dad, and kuya Loel were sitting now. They weren't looking at us, they were muted. Jho was just behind me while squeezing my right hand. She's pulling me closer to her to hide herself from my mom's eyes.

"Let's eat." Dad said while smiling.

I pulled a chair beside my dad and let Jho sit there.

"Bea, let her sit by her own." Mom cut my actions and stared at me with her crossed eyebrows. "You're not a GENTLE man, you're also a LADY, don't forget that Isabel Beatriz."

Jho stopped my hands on pulling the said chair beside my dad, she just lowered her head while sitting on the seat across the chair I am pulling lately.

Then I sat while trying to stop my emotions deep inside...

"Dad, she is Jho...my girlfriend." I whispered, but I know, mom and kuya Loel also heard it...

After that, I held my dad's hands and looked at his eyes directly...

"I know, baby..." He smiled after that.

Then he made me feel that he's with us right now. He's with Me and Jho, he got our backs...

"Thanks dad..."

I gave him a sweet smile after saying those words then I let go of his hands...

"Beatriz."

It's mom, she's mad now base on her voice.

Ano? Tulala ka nanaman sa boses ng mommy mo? Beatriz hanggang kelan ba? You love your mom, right?

But I also love Jhoana... more than anyone.

You promised to yourself that you're going to choose Jho over everything that you have right now. Over your family? You'll going to choose her over these people?

"Yes?"

"Let's talk, inside your room. Right now."

We're silent, no one of us wants to talk first. Maybe because tita Det's mood lately was still here in this place.

I saw her, before Bea stand and walk to her room, her tears were already flowing...

"Hija. Do you really love my daughter?"

I slowly lift my head to look at the person who broke the silence, it's tito Elmer.

He's looking at my eyes directly. Melting me by his gaze, pressuring me to say the truth. I'm drowning, I'm scared.

"Yes po, I love Beatriz so much..." And then the truth came out automatically.

"Mom! Please stop telling me what's the right thing to do, I'm old enough to think what's right and wrong!" I shouted, still betraying by my tears.

I'm not scared at all. It's time to be independent. It's time for me to tell my side. It's the right time to tell her that this kind of love isn't forbidden, that loving Jhoana wasn't wrong...

We're not wrong. We're not sinners. Nagmahal lang kami, anong mali don? Mali na ba ang pagmamahal? Kailangan bang piliin kung sino ang dapat mahalin bago mo ilabas yung feelings mo?

"Beatriz! Listen, you're both girls! Think of it. Bawal kayo! Bawal!" Mom was also crying now, pero mas nangingibabaw pa rin sakanya yung galit.

"In love, it doesn't matter kung girl or boy yung mamahalin mo, if you love that person, you can't controll it..." I said while wiping my tears.

"Bea, whether you like it or not. Maghihiwalay kayo, ngayon din!"

My senses got corrupted. My heart stopped, my throat was interrupted by something. I can't move or even speak...

Maghihiwalay kami ngayon? No way.

"Mom, You don't own my life anymore! When I turned 20 It's already mine! You can't tell me what's next to do, it's my decision now!"
