*Jade's P.O.V*

It's been a week since Alex called. And a week since Harry and I had a proper conversation. Since that night, when Harry placed a kiss on my forehead, we've been distanced. Back to square one...

I'm dying inside to ask what his actions meant before Alex had called. I wanted to know what he felt when I was melted under his touch, completely like wax. I want to know if he felt something...

"Jade!" I was snapped out of my thoughts as I looked up.

"Jade, do you even concentrate these days? You're always lost in your thoughts" Sophia asked with concern laced in her voice. I nodded and looked down at my bland yet warm tea. I reached for the sachet of sugar and dissolved it in before taking a sip.

"I want all of the boys and girls to hang out again, like we used to" Sophia spoke up after sipping on her latte. I smiled at the thought.

"I'd love that" I said genuinely. The boys and girls truly are treasures in life. They mean so much and they've gotten so far in life with me. Through the thick and the thin.

"Liam's birthday party tonight?" She said and I immediately looked at the watch on my wrist. 6pm.

"Sounds good. Brooklyn's with Jia and she's staying at Harry's for the night. What about the boys and the girls? Will they come on such short notice?" I asked her and she replied with a cheeky smile.

"They're all ready. Know the reason why I called you here? So you could agree to join as well" she said and made me chuckle at her cheerful voice.

"Now finish up your tea and go home and get ready in your best dress, we're going to look smokin' hot tonight" she announced and got up, paying the bill despite my constant attempt to pay. She grabbed her purse and so did I, following her out.

A party, just like the old days. It's a fact that I've grown to appreciate how I am and to focus on Brooklyn and only Brooklyn because he's a proof that I lived through the struggle and torture. But there's more to life isn't it.

I reached for the spare keys and unlocked the door revealing the house completely dark.

"Brooklyn, love?" I called out. Maybe he's taking a nap. My heartbeat immediately raced when I realized Brooklyn and Jia were not home. Harry was gone since the morning so there's no way Brooklyn would be with him. I didn't bother removing my boots, as I rushed to my room, nothing. Then to Harry's room and nothing.

My hands trembled as I reached for my phone and quickly dialed Jia's number. I paced around the house near the entrance, running my free hand through my hair completely worried about where my child was. I dialed her phone again and it was the same, no answer.

It was only when I was about to dial once again, I heard the front door open. I used my shirtsleeve to wipe my eyes and rushed to the door to see Harry walking in, with Brooklyn fast asleep in his arms with his head on Harry's shoulder. I took a deep exhale in relief.

Harry had not seen me as his back was facing me, he was humming some sort of a song as he placed his phone and keys on the table and turned around to walk but stopped when he saw me. He stopped humming immediately and gave me a questioning look, before his eyebrows raised and he stepped forward.

"Have you been crying?" He asked softly, placing his right hand on my cheek as he held on to Brooklyn with his left for support. His voice was full of concern and I was frozen, shook with what just happened. What if Alex had taken Brooklyn away from me?
