Tup- Promotion

"Will Lieutenant Taz please report to the main office immediately. Thank you," the PA sounded through Starship 15A2.

Taz slammed her fork on the table, and the whole crew looked at her fearfully. She was sick of being called to the office because of what happened to Junior on Bug World.

She could not defy orders, so she made her way down to the main office. Taz kept thinking about Up, they had begun dating since they got back to the mother ship. But it wasn't before long the rest of the crew found out. It started with February hearing moans and screams from Up's room when she was in Taz's, surprising her with a basket full of makeup. And walls were thin, your neighbor could hear you if you were singing in the shower. Then of course, February told Bug, Bug told Tootsie and Krayonder, and the boys told Specs and Megagirl.

When the rest of the crew confronted Taz and Up during breakfast the next morning, Up denied it, but Taz threatened to rip their heads off if they told anyone. So it was just a secret between them, no one else.

When she reached the main office, she knocked, and the new head of the G.L.E.E. let her in.

"Jou wanted to see me, sir?" Taz asked.

"Yes Lieutenant, sit down."

She sat obediently, she was annoyed, but she didn't let it show.

"Lieutenant, I didn't call you hear today because of Junior," he explained, he seemed to read her mind, "I summoned you here bearing good news."

Taz raised an eyebrow, "And what kind of good news may dat be?"

"I'm promoting you to Commander."

Taz froze, she had been waiting for this opportunity since she had been accepted to the academy, and now it was coming true. First female commander in the Galactic League history. But that meant she had to leave Up and the rest of the crew, and she could not bring herself to do that.

"I understand you could not bring yourself to leave Commander Up, seeing as you two have upgraded your relationship..."

Taz choked, "Disculpe. Sir, jou know?"

"What?" the head looked at her like she was as dumb as February, "Do you think I'm an idiot? I have to maintain plausible deniability, which I can continue, as long as you two act professionally during your working hours. Now about the promotion..."

Taz interrupted him, "Sir, do jou think I can think about it? And discuss it with Up?"

"Of course," he smiled, "But I would like my answer by tomorrow, if that's okay."

"Of course."

"Taz, that's amazing!" Up congratulated her after she told him what happened, "Your dream is finally coming true!"

Taz sat down next to him, "I've been serving as jour lieutenant since you've been made commander, and I do not want to leave jou alone."

"Oh Taz, I'm not alone, I have Krayonder, Specs, February, Bug, Tootsie and Megagirl to keep me company. Krayonder would make a good Lieutenant..."

"Jou seriously think Krayonder could be a Lieutenant?"

Up sighed, "I just don't want you to abandon this opportunity, it's once in a lifetime!"

"I know, but who will look out for jou when I'm gone?"

Up hugged her suddenly, "I think you should take it, Taz. It's for the best."

She hugged him back, knowing what he was saying would always be right, "Te extrañaré, mi amor."

"I'll miss you too."

Taz procrastinated going to the main office, but she knew she had to get it over with and say goodbye to Up and the rest of the crew.

"Ahh, Lieutenant Taz!" the head greeted her, "Or should I say, Commander Taz?"

"I..." Taz begun, but she realized, whatever Up was telling her, he never cared for his own feelings. Taz had to stay, for her, for the crew, for Up, "Lo siento, señor, but I cannot leave my crew behind."

The head froze for a second, but he spoke up, "Very well, Lieutenant, I understand. You may go back to training now."

Taz felt like a hundred tons of stones had been lifted off her shoulders. She could never be truly happy without Up by her side, even if she was a commander. She ran down the halls, until she reached the gym, and seeing Up was the only person there, she grabbed his face and kissed him.

"Taz, have you come to say goodbye?" Up asked sadly.

Taz smiled, "No, Up, I'm here to stay. I cannot leave jour side, because you're my commander, my best friend, my soulmate. Te amo, Up, te amo."

With Up learning a little bit of Spanish to understand Taz better, he replied, "Te amo tambien, mi amor, te amo tambien."
