Coming home from another tiring day at the Adler Planetarium, Brian flopped down on the couch and closed his eyes. Work was more dull when Meredith wasn't by his side, but he was grateful that their newborn baby was okay and Meredith was watching over her every second of every day while their older daughter was at pre-school.
"Daddy Daddy Daddy!" four year old Brielle pounced on Brian, hugging him, "I went to school!"
Brian opened his eyes, chuckling and hugging Brielle, "Did you like it?"
"Ya!" she giggled adorably, "It's fun!"
Meredith stood in the doorway, cradling their newborn daughter, Mackenzie and smiling at the scene, "She loved covering another boy in paint when he started the paint fight. The teacher wasn't pleased but Brielle was happy."
Brian laughed and tickled her, while Brielle squealed loudly, "Were you being a paint master? Did you have fun?"
"Ya!"
Meredith sat down next to him, gently rocking Mackenzie, "She also stood up in front of the class, introducing her family, when the teacher asked if there were any volunteers. And guess what?"
"What?" Brian sat Brielle down on his lap and she snuggled into his chest.
"Firstly, I think we taught her well. Secondly, she didn't say 'Mommy and Daddy', she called us by our full names," Meredith chuckled, "Show Daddy what you did, when the teacher asked for a volunteer."
"I volunteer as tribute!" Brielle screamed loudly.
"Shhh!" both of them hushed her, "You don't want to wake Mackenzie."
Brielle smiled goofily and hugged Brian, "Sorry."
"It's okay," Meredith ruffled her hair and kissed her head.
"Can I have Kenzie for a sec?" Brian asked and Meredith handed him the baby as Brielle climbed onto Meredith's lap. But not a minute after Brian took Mackenzie, she started wailing.
"Ha! It's your turn!" Meredith chuckled, "Mackenzie's definitely Mommy's Little Girl! And Brielle must be Daddy's Little Girl."
Brian bounced Mackenzie, but she only screamed louder and louder. Until Meredith and Brielle got tired of his suffering and Meredith took Mackenzie into her arms, and the baby seemed to calm down immediately.
"That's unfair, Brielle never cried when she was in your arms," Brian playfully pouted.
Meredith chuckled, "How can I make you feel better?"
"A kiss?" he offered. Meredith rolled her eyes playfully and gave him a quick kiss, while Brielle also gave him another kiss on his cheek.
"I'm such a lucky guy," Brian wrapped his arm around Brielle, holding her close, while taking Meredith's hand, "I have three girls by my side. Three beautiful girls."
Meredith smiled, "And we have a handsome hero to protect us."
"From dragons and Uncle Joe when he's Voldy," Brielle imagined.
"Oh Voldy isn't so bad, he has a heart," Brian ruffled her hair.
Meredith kissed his cheek again, "I love you Brian."
"I love you too Meredith, and Brielle, and of course, let's not forget Mackenzie," Brian answered, "But you know what's the best thing?"
Brielle looked at him, "What, Daddy?"
"That we're family, and wherever you are, that's where I wanna be. This is home. I don't care if we move to England and live there, because I'm happy as long as I'm here with you."
