This is inspired by Buzzfeed's Wine Mom series! I absolutely think Hannah Williams is hilarious so I took inspiration from the 'Wine Mom challenge' and made it into a real situation!

"Mommyyyyy, I'm hungry!" three-year-old Jasmine whined for the seventh time in three minutes, swinging her legs while sitting on her chair.

Rachael was bouncing a crying one-year-old baby boy in her arms while trying to make some sandwiches, "Just give me some patience!"

Jasmine played around with the stuff on the dining table, holding up her empty glass of orange juice, "Maybe I should throw this-"

"Don't you dare!" Rachael warned, spreading the peanut butter on with one hand and attempting to soothe her screaming son, "Jayden please, just let me finish this sandwich for your sister!"

"But there will be snow on the floor when it falls!" the toddler dangled the glass in the air.

Rachael abandoned the sandwich, walked out of the kitchen and snatched the glass out of her daughter's hand, "You're not breaking anything."

"Mommyyyy, I'm bored!"

Jayden only screamed louder upon Jasmine's whining.

Rachael went back to the kitchen, attempting to open the jam jar without spilling anything on her shirt or Jayden's onesie.

"Oh god... when is Jeff coming home?" she said to herself exasperatedly.

The chaos only got louder, Jasmine spilled water on the floor, Jayden screamed louder, until Rachael got a call from her boss.

"Is it Daddy?" Jasmine asked hopefully.

She sighed, "Nope, it's my boss."

Rachael muttered an almost inaudible 'son of a bitch' before picking up and putting it on speaker, "Yes?"

"Rachael, I need you to come in today," her boss said, "We're short staffed."

She groaned, "No! I have to watch my kids! My husband is at work and there's no one to babysit them!"

Jasmine started clanging her plastic cup on the wooden table.

"Then can you randomly find one?"

"I said no!"

Her boss tried to threaten her, "You do know that I have authority over you..."

"And I know that I get weekends off!" Rachael almost yelled into the phone, "BYE."

She hung up and returned to the task of making a sandwich. Jasmine started her clanging and Jayden continued his screaming. Finally, somehow, she managed to put together a hasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich, loaded it onto a plate and slid it in front of Jasmine.

"Eat up."

Jasmine stared at it, "I don't like crust."

Rachael sighed frustratedly, "Then you bite it off and dump it on the plate!"

"I'm home!" yelled a voice from the front door. Jasmine dumped down her sandwich, which lay forgotten, and ran towards it.

"Daddy!"

Jeff chuckled and lifted her up, setting her on his hip, "How was your day, baby girl?"

"Fun!"

Rachael emerged with Jayden still screaming in her arms, "Hey honey, you're home early."

Jeff gave Rachael a sweet kiss on her head, immediately noticing her distress, "I had a half day today. Want me to take him?"

She nodded tiredly and he gladly took his son into his arms, coaxing him, and Jasmine nagging him to play with her.

"I think he needed a change the whole time," Jeff determined, handing Jayden over to Rachael, "I'll play with Jasmine, you change Jayden, then we can talk, okay?"

Rachael carried Jayden back to his nursery, lay him on the changing table and started changing his diaper robotically. After three years of doing it, it became all too familiar to her. Finishing the change, she carried a quiet and happy Jayden sucking on his pacifier down to the living room, where Jeff was already in a fairy princess dress having a tea party with Jasmine.

"Look who decided to join us!" Jeff grinned as he turned to Rachael, and Jasmine had the selfsame smile on her face.

"Come join us Mommy!"

She put Jayden down in the Pack n Play and agreed without hesitation, and he was already drifting off to sleep.

"But after this, you need to take your nap, okay?" Jeff struck a deal with Jasmine, which she happily obliged to. After ten minutes, her eyelids were slowly drooping, so Jeff carried Jasmine up to her room while Rachael took Jayden up. It was easy putting them down for a nap, and they both curled up on the couch after that.

Jeff stroked Rachael's hair lovingly, "So wanna tell me what happened?"

She sighed, lacing her fingers with his, "Jayden was screaming, Jasmine was whining for a sandwich and I just got overwhelmed, I guess."

"It's okay, I mean, the kids are still young. Before you know it, they'll be leaving the nest."

"I kinda missed it when it was just the two of us," she murmured, "I love the kids, but we need a break."

Jeff suggested, "Then let's do it."

"What?"

"We can go out."

"Then who are the kids staying with?"

He shrugged, "Brian and Meredith?"

"Brielle's like three months old," Rachael shook her head, "I don't wanna bother them."

"Oh don't worry," Jeff chuckled, "Brian lost a bet a while ago and I sucked him into babysitting the kids for a night when we are out on a date. Plus, Brian would be entertaining Jasmine anyway, I'll be sure to pack the fairy wings and the magic wand."

A short, momentary, awkward silence fell between them, but they enjoyed the quietness, and finally, Rachael spoke up, "Then sure, let's go out, on a date, as weird as it sounds."

"I don't think we've done that since Jayden was born."

She shrugged, "Why the hell not? We can act like adults for once."

Jeff pulled out his phone and texted Brian, asking him to babysit Jasmine and Jayden for the night, he was reluctant, but Meredith was excited to have them over and Brian lost a bet, so they agreed.

"You're a lifesaver," Rachael murmured and placed a soft kiss on Jeff's lips.

He grinned like a little kid getting his cookie, "See? What would you do without me?"

That comment earned him a hard punch on his arm.
