"Brian?" Meredith asked through the dark, facing up, eyes wide open.
No reply.
"Briiiaaaannnn," she whined, rolling over and gently shaking him.
Brian rolled over to face her, clearly exhausted, "What?"
"Can I have some ice cream please?" she asked cheekily.
He grabbed the alarm clock from his nightstand and sighed, "It's three am! Maybe tomorrow, okay babe? And chocolate chip pancakes as well, and waffles and..."
"Pleeeease?" Meredith begged.
Brian groaned, "You're not using that excuse on me again..."
"The baby's hungry."
He groaned even louder, sitting up to gain his consciousness, pulling over a coat he had draped on the end of the bed, "How long's till this baby's due? You need to learn to get your own food."
"Hey! I'm carrying your kid!" Meredith protested.
Brian stood up and put on some slippers, "Fine! I do not want to encounter a hairdryer to my face again, I have learnt baby hormones are worse than period hormones, and I hope you remember what happened in college."
Walking out of the door, Meredith called after him, "Thanks babe! I love you! The baby loves you too! Oh and can I have the big cookie dough this time?"
"Okay!" Brian yelled, and Meredith could hear the front door shut from her room and she went on Twitter, scrolling through her feed.
The pregnancy excuse always works, hubby only gets you food at 3am if you're pregnant, she tweeted.
She rested her hand on her baby bump, talking to her baby, "You're lucky we have Daddy, or else we have to get up at three to get some ice cream."
Soon a tweet came back from Lauren, who was apparently still awake.
Coincidence? I'm craving too! Cookie dough ice cream!
Meredith tweeted back.
Same!
She started drifting off to sleep when she laid down, she really underestimated how tired she was. And just before she slipped into dreamworld, she could hear the front door open and close, and Brian coming into the room, sighing.
"Seriously? Happens every time!"
